I see a lot of used "contractor saws". Any recommendations on brands? Is Grizzly making a good quality saw? Any others? It seems hard to find the ones that aren't the roll around type.
I just added my 2cents on a new post above you topic band saws and what I suggested to him and will to you take a good look at the Ridgid tool line at home depot good prices, solid parts, and excellent guarantees.
Good Luck, Chuck
Snag I'm in the same boat, the saw I have has a bit of wobble in the blade causing a poor cut. I'm looking on criegs list and waitung for a deal..
I have a 10 inch Dewalt and really like it I have had it for several years
David,
I have a 10" Ridgid table saw and like crgibson points out, it has been great. I have one that is about four years old that has a full cast iron table and extensions. When I was in HD a couple weeks ago, the displayed one had sheet metal extensions. If you are only using the main table for cutting out bow materials, it should be fine. For other light home duties, the sheet metal extensions will probably be OK. I just never liked sheet metal extensions.
One thing about the Ridgid is that it came with a retractable roller stand so that it is easy to move around in the garage or outside if you are on solid surfaces. Good thing, as mine is a bear with all that cast iron.
Thanks guys. I think I'll take a look at the Rigid. I've been holding out for a deal on Craigslist...but the shop is about ready to move into and may have to change course.
be aware that the delta saws that has direct drive motors is fire hazards . The brushes ark .
I wouldnt buy a direct drive for the fact the replacement motors are more expensive then a belt drive.
I also have a Rigid that has been great, I think it is TS3650. Just make sure it is the one with all cast iron top and extensions. The built in roll-around feature is handy.
