Title: Oh my bow.
Post by: Renacs on April 14, 2011, 08:38:00 PM
Left my newest wallnut self bow outside last night and all day while stungup.  It had about a 1/2"  set before. now it has about 3" of set.  Its omly been a few hours since i found it.   And in the midlimb where i had left a knot in it. The bow now has alot of set, or bend in it.  It not a hinge but close to looking like one. What can i do to save it.  heat treat, sinew?   Sorry no pics,  i washed my camera.

I have heated then added sinew to save one of mine from disaster. Maybe one of these professional guys on here can give you some better advice.

You have nothing to lose but time.  Give it a shot.  Here's one that I salvaged:    Fixit (http://sticknstring.webs.com/fixit.htm)

Take pics and show us the result.  Oh, nevermind just read about your camera  :)

I've left some bows strung overnight because I forgot...never really gained much set.

I did that with my first BBO that survived the tilering process. Back flexed it for some dumb reason to "take any set out" and cracked the belly.
