Title: carbon lams and blocks
Post by: AKCrazyhorse on April 13, 2011, 11:33:00 AM
After the discussions on the A&H and ABS all carbon bow offerings I've just got to wonder.....where does one purchase raw materials for attempting to make an all carbon bow from thier own forms?  I see Binghams offers a carbon lam.  What other suppliers for carbon components have any of you used?

You can only get it in bulk. Unless you can afford a thousand or more dollars and having a bunch of stuff left over most of us cannot do it. We pretty much have to be content with using carbon and wood laminations or foam core laminations if we can find it. I have been waiting for about three weeks for some foam core to build a set of limbs with. I'll be getting that from Dale Stahl However no one I know of has smalleer amounts of the carbon foam for sale.

God bless you, Steve.

A few friends of mine have blown up some foam core bows. Chris Cox, who is a VERY competent bowyer (Habu bows), doesn't like foam core. I myself am not interested in trying it...still yet, I would like to hear what Sixby/Steve thinks of it after he has tried it. Good luck with it.
