there is a hunk of wood i may have access to that is 29"x2"x1.5". would this provide enough for 4 pieces of limb veneer for a 60" 1-piece longbow? thanks for any help.
I think you would need 62" for a 60" one piece bow when you add the limb tips. You could only get 58" total with that piece of wood. Don

If its a real nice peice of wood you could make it work.Just splice in a 6" peice between two of the 29". That gives you 64". Then place the splice on the back of the riser then to finish up put an overlay of black glass and riser wood over the splice. If you make a nice joint it will hardly show on the side of the riser. The 29" will be plenty long for the belly veneers. Make sense? Bob
I've done a couple sets of lams like Greg does with a 45 degree splice made from another board of the same thickness, then slice your lams off it.
A .060 contrast stripe or 2 looks cool between em too.
