My son thought these kind of bows looked pretty cool so I made him one from hickory. He helped me shape the handle till he liked the way it felt. Its 62" ntn and pulls 40# at 28". He only draws around 24" but I figured he could grow into it. He shot it pretty good. I shot it about 100 times and was really surprised at how hard it shot for the light poundage.

Very nice Okie..
Looks good! How wide is it? 1x3? I had to teach my g/f to rest the bottom tip on her shoe instead of the ground the first time I took her shooting...don't need the finish getting scuffed off, broken string from mud/ grit in the nock, or worse yet, an explosion on the ensuing shot!
The limbs are 1.5" wide and then they narrow to 1/2" the last 12".
I love it! Cool bow.
very nice , way to get them going
Wow okie! really nice bow. Was this your first homegaard?
NY, this is my 2nd holmegaard style bow. They are pretty easy to build and tiller though and they shoot really good. To be perfectly honest, I really dont care too much for the way they look, but thats what he wanted.
Either way you did one heck of a job!
