Title: Grizzly G1072 6 X 48 sander
Post by: Don Armstrong on March 13, 2011, 08:05:00 AM
There is one of these on Craigslist for 239.00. It has been discontinued by Grizzly so they don't list a price. It has a 3/4 HP motor. Good deal or a pass. Check out link below for picture. Thanks, Don

I have this one and use it more than any other tool when bow building.

Maybe offer $100?

Good luck.

Consider shipping/picking up that monster as well. Not sure where the seller is, but Im guessing it weighs 75#'s or more? A 6 x 48 would be a gem to have around, especially turned on its side. It would be a limb taper grinding machine!

Pearl, he's about 30 minutes away, so no shipping involved, just some liquid gold for the truck   :D   . I may make a offer and see what he says. Thanks guys, Don

I bought a brand new Harbor Freight 6 x 48 sander for $160 and it has a 1 HP motor.  It's not the greatest but it is worth the money spent.  You will need a coupon (in most hunting mags) to get it for $160 though.

Even if you paid $300 for it you wont get hurt.... It's hands down the most used tool in the shop for bow building.

Btw.... that thing weighs about 250 pounds, and well worth a couple bucks a pound too.   :bigsmyl:
