I've returned to making my own flemish strings since I've started shooting traditional recurve again about 2 years ago.
The strings I make are for my 45 & 50# bows & normally since I only have B50 I'll make em with 12 strands & add a piece to the center under the serving to help in nock fit which works out quite well.
I made a new string for my daughters PSE Buckeye & I made it 8 strand but wrapped the loops with string "because I forgot to add pieces to make the loops thicker."
What does everyone else do about making the loops thicker to protect the limb tips?
B-50 or 55 shouldnt need any padding, especially with light weight bows. I never pad mine even with 55# plus bows. I double serve strings with 12 or less strands.
Two extra strands of B-50 aren't going to affect the performance of the bow so I'd just go with a 14 strand string.
Add extra short string in the loops for padded loops.
