I'm not sure what happened . . . a few of the posts on the forum under this topic were deleted.  Anyway, I appreciate the information on the book.  We had a chance to meet Lucas Novotny this last fall at the Mounted Archery tournament in Redmond, Oregon.  It was way cool to see them shoot that style of bow.  My son ordered a Turkish bow from Csaba Grozer out of Hungary.  It would be very cool to learn to build one - the syahs are interesting.  Thanks again . . . mark

That book is one of the best books to read if you are interested in building true horn composite bows.I have made some fglass asiatic style bows and have since gone completely to horn and sinew as nothing compares to the natural materials. The book is excellent once again.

Wow, sounds like a good book.  How do the syahs on your bows attach to the limb?  Where do you get horn?

I get horn from thailand from a bowyer friend of mine and I usually do a v splice on my horn composites on the 5 piece cores and you can make 3 piece cores with just the handle splice.

Methinks that you have somehow started 3 or 4 threads under the same heading.

No posts disappeared, they are just under different threads of the same name.

Great book.  Probably the best out there for information on building a Composite bow.
