Hey guys I was just wondering, How do you prepare a bamboo backing for a glue up on an all wood laminate?

Chris, Do some searches here and on you tube. You'll find plenty of info.

The back of the boo has to be flattened and thinned I start by getting the back flat, Using a large sander, a electric plane, file rasp etc.what ever you have lots of folks use a jointer.

Once flat lay out the profile on the back taking in consideration the distance of the nodes. Make it symmetrical and leave some room on the upper limb for sliding on the string.

Cut out the profile on a band saw. Then re sand to thin it so the edges or 1/8 inch or less thick.

I prefer urac 185 glue for bamboo and wood.

I just sand it flat after the joiner. Wipe the dust off and glue it up.

I agree with what MacBow said but his terminology can be confusing. You should thin the boo from it's belly side. The back side is the side that faces away from the bow, ie. the outside of the boo.
