Green hickory selfbows. Have you heard of these?
Got one I painted green a few years ago HAHA. Got black hickory around here but never heard of green hickory.
Green hickory as a type of hickory or unseasoned hickory?
Nope, just messing with you guy's!
Here's what I mean,,, Shellbark Hickory, 62" 50#@28" Meet "Rabbit Hole". Got four more green arrows to finish up today.

 Love it !
OH WOW! That is beautiful.
That is sweet! Better not lay that one down in the woods, you might never find it.
The Native Americans of the past would have given you a heck of a trade for that bow. Is that a glass eye set in the hole? My next bow is going to be a hickory selfer , I hope it turns out as nice. Looks great :clapper:
i like
I like that color stain on that bow. Very nice.
Rit dye and rubbing alcohol :biglaugh:
Nice bow. reminds me of my very first bow that was a white elm.
Very cool. I love the color.
Nice little hickory stick Joe. Looks like a turkey and deer killer.
sweet lookin bow, joe. im hoping to see some pics of the bow in action. ruddy
dude, you got a hole in your bow. Did you see that?
Sharp eye John! Hope the rabbits at GORH see it up close this weekend.
You could try a sinew patch or maybe some serving thread in Duco.
Nice! How wide is it? At 62", did it take much set? I'm not too far from you, so I assume our humidity is pretty close. I'm ready to start another Shagbark

i've used the rit dye and alcohol for arrows and most recently for a short pyramid bow for my daughter. she said she wanted a bow in her favorite color. PURPLE. i've used the yellow for laminated birch shafts and they look like osage. very nice bow btw.

Nice bow. But your handle is OSAGEtree. :) Jawge
Yes it is Osagetree but George, someone started calling me osage whisperer so I had to do a couple hickory's to show osage is not all I do!! :biglaugh:
