Going to start my 'swap' bow soon and want to use walnut in the riser along with some zebra wood or a piece of osage I have left. I have never built using I-Beam type risers. I really don't want to see a different wood in the sight window. Would walnut with an arch of something else be strong enough? I would hate to send out an explosion waiting to happen.
Thanks, Todd
If you use some core tuff in the riser it should be fine
For a two piece lamination, don't laminate to center. Make the shelf side piece thicker and don't cut the shelf all the way in to the lamination line. Not as strong as a three piece or I beam, but still stronger than one piece.
