I am thinking about the asian type of buffalo. I had a contact for hatbone.com but the site no longer will come up,they had strips of horn ready for bow building. The American Bison horn is to short for what I need. Thanks though Mike. That is a neat site,Lots of cool stuff.

Isn't there a guy in the Philipeans that sells Asian buff horns. His name is Pete. I bet Google knows him.

You might also check out Yumi Bows.  Jaap makes Asian style bows and was always a good source for horn tips for ELB's.

Mike Westvang (Wingnut) at Dryad used to do watusi horn on some of his bows. Might give him a shout.

Gemsbuk is another option.  Very easy to get and fairly inexpensive.   Just a bit more work to flatten.

As allways, your right, Pat:) The guy in the Philipeans is Peter Cua. petercua287@hotmail.com Another supplier is Highland Horn in Scotland.  www.highlandhorn.com (http://www.highlandhorn.com)
Do not use bleached or brown ones, they can be britle + old, and are not good for hornbows.

Gemsbok is fairly easy, John has a good tutorial down in how to section.
