Title: Looking for a good 4 in 1 rasp
Post by: jsweka on January 30, 2011, 06:39:00 PM
Hey Guys,

One of my most used hand tools with shaping a riser and limbtips is a 4 in 1 rasp.  The one I currently have is a hand-me-down from my Father and his muzzleloader building days.  It's getting pretty old and the teath are getting dull, so I'm looking for a replacement.  The problem is that any I see at Lowes, Home Depot, and even Grizzly, just look cheap compared to the one I've got.  Does anyone have any suggestions where I can get a good quality one?

Thanks,

John

Thanks Chuck.  I'll have to check them out at Home Depot again.  I just looked at a pic of one on Home Depot's web site and I'm still not sure about it.  What I like about the one that I have is that the teath go right to the edge.  Just can't seem to find one anywhere like it.  Like I said it is old, so maybe nobody manufactures one like it anymore.

the rasp i use is not a 4 in 1 but it is awesome. it's also expensive. the UBR10. this rasp makes very short work of tough woods like hickory. i got mine from 3rivers.
