i have a wood worker supply place by me. went there the other day and was very suprised to find that several sizes and types of clamps were much cheaper than home depot and loews. i also was happy to find a resorce for different sized and shaped scrap pieces of many different exotics. these were very cheap as well. they are perfect for knife handles, bow handels, tip overlays, riser overlays etc. they also carry different length and width boards. these include osage, hard maple, black cherry. the osage is very dark. one of the boards they have is big enough to get 4 bows out of it. i asked if it was american or argentinian osage. he said he thinks it's american but not positive. his supplier is in PA.(from what i've read. both species of osage work equally well for bow making). the cost is very reasonable. plus, a very big bonus is no shipping costs. hopefully next month, as i am on a fixed income.

Must be nice to have that resource!
I would give anything to have decent lumber close. I settle for hickory and oak, its everywhere around here. Im not sure what would happen if I had osage at my disposal? An empty wallet for sure.
mt local sawmill/woodworking yard has cherry and hard maple and even jatoba and some small blocks of exotics , but if they had osage , i'd be robbin the place blind...did your place have enough osage that you might be interested in pm'n me the name of them ? i go to ny all the time for work and might have to keep an eye open if im on my way through...

I went looking for a source today. Online they showed to have all kinds of exotic hardwood. When I got there they had none. At least he pointed me in the direction of another source, hopefully they will come thru.
thats too bad. on the website for the store in my area they don't show some of the stuff thats actually at the store. the osage board for example is not on the web but is there.
