Howdy,
Can't get this bow makin bug outta my head. :knothead:
Is it ok to build a bow with an actionboo belly under glass?
My thoughts were (back to belly) glass, carbon, actionboo, riser, actionboo, glass.
Just don't know how actionboo works as a belly.
Or would actionwood be a better choice?
Thank you
Yep some of the best bowyers in the world that's all they use. Jack Kempf stains his boo to match the color of the risers and he's got over a year wait for one of his bows.
Would be interesting to know what thickness and taper it would call for.
I use a lot of action boo, great stuff, uniform and light. Works great sandwiched between glass. It does not have enough intergety to stand alone.

Black Widow uses dyed? actionboo directly under clear glass in their Ironwood models. I had a SA ironwood, it looked good and shot great.
I'll be finding out before too long. The seven lakes blank Mike is glueing up for me will have stained actionboo under clear glass back and belly.
One of the best.
What kind of stain works on the actionboo?
I know there's a lot of glue in it.
Also worried about the smoothon sticking to it when it gets backed with glass.
Thank you
