*Update* We have had a few out of country entries. I don't have an issue shipping out of country but if any one does send me a PM and I will take care of it. I shipped a bow to switzerland last year for around 45-50$ and figure it will should be roughly the same for anywhere else. If you have an issue with it just send me a PM.
Stiks
This thread will run until January 13th NO SIGN UP'S AFTER THAT.
DEADLINE IS JULY THE 9TH
KellyG WILL BE GATHERING INFO (Thanks buddy!)so if you get a PM from him you know what's up.
READ ALL RULES BEFORE SIGNING UP
We are gonna do this the same as last year with a few changes.
#1 There will be a 30 day grace period after the final to be shipped date. Any bows not shipped by then and I will ask you to forward the bow you recieve to your recipient. I had one guy not come through last year and he is banned. Any bows not shipped by the deadline and I will ban you from any further trades.
The only way I will make any exceptions to this rule is if you contact me and let me know what is going on. I do understand things happen and I am willing to work with anyone should an emergency arise, But YOU HAVE TO KEEP COMMUNCATION OPEN AND STAY IN TOUCH WITH ME. No exeptions!
Okay here we go.
The way we'll do this to insure everybody get's a bow they can shoot is draw names. If you want in post here and at the end of sign up I will draw names and PM or email to the builder who your bow is going to and the specs desired.
#1 When you post that you are in also post your draw length and desired draw weight within a 5 or 10 pound range and right or lefthanded. (example.. 45-50 or 40-50) Also state whether you will be building a glass or wood bow for the trade.
#2 When you post pics during the build DO NOT state in any fashion whom your bow is going to.
#3 I have given this alot of thought and to keep it as honest as possible no one who has signed up to TradGang after the date of this post can enter. I hate to exclude anyone but have heard of it here in past trades that one guy or another did not get a return on his trade and DO NOT want that to happen.
#4 The time frame for the build will be about 6 months and the bow you built should if anyway possible be shot in. Bows need to finished and shipped by July 9th
#5 There was a few concerns about liabilty so I will throw in that any one who receives a bow in this trade is doing so at his/her own risk and in no way holds any one resposbible in any way should a misfortune occur due to use of such bow.
#6 if you are building a glass bow and only want a glass bow in return or vice versa for wood bowyers please state this in the sign up, otherwise you may recieve a glass or wood bow.
There we have it. I tried to keep it as simple as possible and keep everybody happy. So let the building and swapping commence.
Have fun! Kris
I'm in!
Building a wood bow. Shoot 45-55# @28 RH
Stiks
Thanks for organizing this again Sitks! I was wishing I had signed up last time so count me in for this one!
I'll be building a wood laminate bow for someone.
My specs are any bow around 45-55# @ 30", right handed.
Woo hoo! Thanks, Kris...can't wait!
I'll be building a wooden bow.
I shoot 40-45#@26", RH.
Thanks again!
I'm in again!
I will be building a selfbow.
I shoot 50#-60# @ 26" Right handed and I won't be picky this year so I'll take anything. d;^)
I'm also in this year.
I'll be building a glass bow. Maybe a recurve, not sure yet.
I shoot 50-55@27, RH.
Thanks for putting this up again Kris. You did a fantastic job last year.
----------
Andy
I'm in. I'll be building a wood laminate bow, may be building a glass bow depending on how the T/D recurve I'm currently building ends up finished.
I shoot 45-50# @28". RH.
I am in, I will be building a wood composite long bow.
I shoot 45 to 50# @26" RH
Stiks thanks again for spearheading the swap.
No Problem Pete,
KellyG sent me a pm a whle back wanting to be involved but said he won't be able to build a bow so I will be contacting him at at the end of sign ups and he is gonna help me draw names and deliver info. I'm gonna make sure he get's my name in the list to draw from so this even I won't know who is building my bow. Kinda adds alot to the anticipation that everyone else had to deal with last year and I can be in that same boat. So it will a little more exciting for me this year.
Last years was great and we'll being doing it from here on out.
Stiks
you know im down.
45-55# , i hold the string with my right hand , so i think im a righty...
ill be making either a selfbow or boardbow.
no preference wood or glass.
draw is 28 , but im not against a shorter draw if someone wants to get creative.
time to go look at my locust stach...
-yov
I'll play the game again and I will be building another glass bow of some fashion.
As for me I would like a right handed bow that draws 50-60 pounds @ 28 inches.
Oh man this is going to be fun again.
Sign me up.
RH 50-55lbs @ 28" I'll be making a wood bow.
Looking forward to it!
I'm in again !
I'll be building a self bow, i don't care what kind of bow i get. I shoot RH 45-55# 28" draw would great !
Can't wait to find out who i get to build for !!
Yes I am in again, I will make a Osage self bow and I don't care what I get. I shoot RH 45/50 at 28"
Thanks Kris for doing this again and looking forward to this build.
I'm in!
Building a wood bow. Shoot 45-55# @27" RH. Prefer a glass bow since I have way too many wooden bows :)
I wanna play too....
I'll build a wooden bow.
I shoot 50-60# @ 28". I'm left handed.
several new signups already that we didn't see last year. Ought to be awsome for sure!
I would like to get involved also, just have a question though. Are board bows aloud; wasn't sure if you considering them?
Thanks
alot of people im sure are using lumber as their stock.
i dont have an issue personally with board bows...
its up to stik's i guess...
im in if not too late , i shoot 28 at any weight
will be building wood bow
All right, all right.. Im in!
I will be building a glass recurve.. might be one piece, might be take down... it's a surprise.
I prefer a glass bow.. right handed.. 35 to 40 lbs. would consider a wood laminate bow..same specs. R&D Longbow sounds good.. Heck.. they all sound good! LOL
Thanks
Brad
All Trad type bows are allowed in the swap. Fishback built a beautiful board bow last year as well as others.
Ken need to know right or left bud.
Yeah... Ima have to say I'm in again. It's way to fun to not join. I'm in the same boat as Mr. Scrifes as I have way to many wood bows so a glass bow would be cool if possible, but as always, I'm happy with anything. I'm right handed and shoot anything above 45@26. I will be making an osage selfbow.
is it time to draw names yet?
How bout now?
Now? :-)
I'm in again.
I'll be building a wood bow and would like the same.
RH 45-50# @ 27"
Gonna be fun!
Count me in as well. I will be building a glass bow of some kind. I shoot RH and like 50-55 would prefer glass, but would gladly take a wooden one. It was a blast last year and I bet it will be even better this year.
I'm in, thanks Stiks.
I draw 45 pounds at 27.5 inches, RH, wood or glass is fine.
I'll be making a 66 inch BBO Bow, r/d with horn tip over lays.
Roy
Way to get the ball rolling Stiks. I'm definitely in again. I'm pretty confident it's gonna be another board bow. It's all I know how to make right now! lol. But hopefully, I may be able to include some matching arrows. No guarantees, as this is a BOW swap. I would happily give any kind of bow I get a happy home, but i'm gonna have my fingers crossed for one of those gorgeous Osage babies I see some of these fellers make.
Right Handed. 40-50#. 28" draw.
To get the juices flowing...

Thanks again for putting this together Kris. Cheers.
Alright, I'll play.
50 and up at 30" RH
I'll be making a wood laminate bow.
Adam
ok chris im in i shoot 50-60# r/h@28i will be making either a static recurve or osage bow brock
Not sure if I can compete with the quality of bows out there but I'd like in on this.
I'll be building a wood bow most likely a laminate.
I'm right handed and shoot 55#@28" and will take whatever type bow my person wants to make for me.
OK..I'm in!
I'll be doin a wooden bow. don't have a preference on what I get. But I shoot 50-60 @ 28.
Glad this is a long build, plenty of time to get things nice and pretty.
Appended: I may do a board bow, or a laminated glass bow, probably not wood laminate. While a novice bowyer, I'm going to try to make this the best bow i've made yet. I'm excited!
Ok Stiks,
I will start making a list of who and preferred bows, weights and other data so I can get a jump on it. Shoot me a PM if you know of someone who you know does quaify this year. I plan on useing excel to make my list if you cant open an excel let me know and I will come up with something else. I will aslo send you a copy once it is all done and names are drawn, this is just in case my real job pulls me away and I cant follow thru. I can't wait to see the bow yall come up with this year.
Stiks PM me with any details and lessons learned from last year.
Happy New year,
Kelly
Ok I 25 bowyers entered so far,
Ken 75 and Dave Bowers you RH or LH
Bradford,Jess Stuart, and Imuunareue you draw lenght Please,
Kelly
Everyone don't forget to add RH or LH please.
Thanks
Stiks -
This is great. Thanks for the PM.
For my future bowyer's edification: Right Handed, 28-29" draw, 45-55#, any style. I am notoriously inaccurate so your bow will definitely shoot better than me.
To my future bow owner - Osage, Elm, or Maple?
va
Sorry Kelly... @ 27"
Count me in! I wanted to last year but was too late.
I shoot right handed 50-55 pounds, no preference on wood or glass. 28" draw
I will build a glass longbow, maybe a 3pc.
right handed all day long
Kelly I do believe Jess Stuarts draw length is 28" from last years swap.
Well I can't sit in the bowshop and watch DVShunter work on a swap bow. So I'm in too.
45-55 @ 27 RH
Be making a wood bow. I have no preference on what I receive. Can't wait!
This is gonna be alot of fun, nice to see some many people envovled.
I'm in again and I will try to get mine out before the deadline this time.
50-60# @ 29" RH. Any bow will be appreciated and given a nice home.
For anyone worried about their own ability, don't. This build has bowyers of all levels and styles of bows. I got a board bow last year but could as easily have gotten a glass bow or PatB's osage bow. Thats part of the fun. I am a novice but managed to produce a nice boardbow that shot very well, should have called it "blind squirrel" :) Have fun and and enjoy what ever you can produce and recieve.
thanks Kris for the work involved.
That's exactly what it's about razorback plus there will be a seperate thread posted after sign up that guys can post pics and questions as we all go along. Not oanly a chance to get a bow from some of the finest bowyers around but a chance to share and learn from each other.
This is kinda like a cyber mojam or something only when we are done with our bow we pass it along to someone in the swap.
It's a blast for sure, Stiks
Heck, throw me in,haven't planned any bows after March 1.
R/H "Around" 50@28" I'm a glass bow guy,but if it works out uneven,I'm good with wood ! LOL
Sorry Kelly, got so excited forgot the draw length, it is 28".
Hey Kelly, put my draw length down at 30"
Definitely want in, I'm starting to feel confident enough that in 6 months of effort I can turn out at least one bow that someone would like to receive.
I'll be making a wood bow.
Looking to receive a RH, 50-60# @ 29". Any type works, but single piece of osage would be cool, as would one of them thar fancy glass bows y'all make look so effortless.
I'm giddy just thinking about it. Thanks for organizing.
To clarify, the bow I make will be a glass d/r,but if need be a wood in return will be good!
Kris, I'm in. Thanks for the encouragement and opportunity. I'll be making a wood bow of the longbow variety.
I shoot LH 45-50# @ 26". Would love a bow short enough to use from a climbing stand but I'll take anything.
This is exciting. Been looking forward to this more than I was anticipating Christmas!
Stan
what do you consider short enough? 33" ntn? obviously im a ground pounder...
-hov
Ok I am up to 33 Bowyers
lovethehunt I need you Draw lenght.
I need PMs From the 1st 10 on addresses so I dont get swamped with this later. Stik thru Goose If you signed up between these two send me your mail address. I will get the next 10 once I have updated my data. the only others that will get your address is Stik and whom ever is makeing your bow.
Found a nice couple of pieces of wood to get working on. I guess if I get 2 or 3 bows started, I should be able to finish well ahead of the deadline.
I also have 2 BBO's that are missing a limb somehow. :dunno: I've been meaning to make them into one new bow. I've got a short selfbow that needs final tillering, and I've got a sleeved takedown blank from a friend that needs to be completed.
This is good timing...... shop season is in full tilt. Of course I'll have to make some time for small game hunting.
I want in. I will be making a selfbow. I would like any type of bow that flings arrows. But if given the chance, I would like a glass bow since I have only shot selfbows so far. 50-60# @ 26" works for me. Right handed.
Thanks
Let's keep it the lime light.
Stiks
Im in, I'll be building a d/r glass bow.
Iv been wantin an osage selfbow for awhile and have yet to attempt one myself so im good with wood but im not picky I'll be happy with whatever shows up at my door, glass or wood.
Im RH 50-60# @ 30".
Put me in. I will make whatever is needed, Osage selfbow, 64" R/D glass longbow, or 60" glass 50's style recurve.
I shoot either righthanded (split finger) 50-57 @ 28" or Lefthanded (three under) 50-57 @ 29"
I'm in.
50-55 @ 28 RH
I build self bows and also glass longbows and either would be fine in trade.
I'm in glass bow RH 55-60 @ 28
I'll be building a glass bow.
Thanks for taking the time to get this together again. I know it takes some work on your side and it is appreciated.
Ok we are up to 38 bowyers so far. Still need some Address for that first group so I can move to the next 10.
Count me in. I'll be building a wood bow.
I shoot 50 - 60# @28" RH. Will love what ever I get.
Thanks,
Dan
Just signed up recently, & haven't hardly posted, but I've been on here reading & learning from y'all almost everyday for several months. Had a blast reading through the thread from 2010. I'd be honored to be included this coming year.
I'll make a wooden or wood/ bamboo composite bow, & hopefully some arrows to match.
I shoot RH, 50-60# @ 28".
Thanks for your time & devotion to this, Stiks!
P.S.
Thanks to KellyG for helping to organize it all, also!
KochNE the thanks goes to Stiks I am just his minion. Get some Pics up of your bows KochNE.
Kelly ain't no minion. He just offered a helping hand because he's not able to build a bow at the time and wanted to be involved.
Believe me I know the work he's doing behind the scenes and it is tedious. I got a little something up my sleeve for him though cause I know the part he's doing is alot of foot work.
Stiks
All right Brock, You talked me into it.
RH 45-55 @ 28"
I will try to hack out a selfbow
I have all but 3 out of the first ten mailing Address so I am ready for the next ten. They are between formerbutcher and Roy from PA.
We are up to 40 bowyers now.
oops 41 bowyers
I'm sitting in South Africa, so I have no idea whether or not the postage migh be a bit much for some of the guys? If not, I would love to join the trade :) Otherwise I'll just watch with envy again... ;)
I can make a pretty decent glass bow.
I shoot 50-60# @ 28" RH
PS. I know this is a "luck of the draw thingy" But I would LOVE an osage bow with a bit of character. We don't get that kinda wood here at all.
Johan,
Shipping actually should only be around 45$ give or take. I shipped a bow to Switzerland last year and although it was a bit more than to ship one here in the states it was not not terrible. I shipped it via the USPS and it was there in about six days or so.
As far as I am concerned you are good to get in. I might ba able to pull some strings LOL and make sure you get a good Osage bow sent your way. There are a one or two guy's here that specialize in that sort of thing
Stiks
That brings us to 42 bowyers. Still need the addresses for the next group of ten just shoot me a PM.
I'm right handed, I like 45# - 50# @ 28", I'm Making a glass laminated longbow.
Count me in again as well. I will be building a glass bow- either a recurve or longbow. I prefer a glass bow.. right handed.. 45-55#s @28".
Ok I'm in too.
I will be making an Osage selfbow. I'm actually working on my 4th one right now and it's going to be a take down longbow with Osage/Rosewood riser and it's going to be short. That's about all I've decided so far, but don't count on that being the one that gets traded.....it's an experiment in progress. At any rate mine will be made from Osage of the longbow variety.
I could really use a short glass bow for using in a blind, but I would enjoy anything that I get. My Bear Grizzly is 56" amo, so something in the 48" to 52" range would be awesome, but it doesn't have to be a recurve.
I've always wanted to try one of those R/D longbows....that would be sweet!
Anywhere around the 48# to 53# at 28" Right Hand would work great!
This is gonna be fun!
Kelly - I'll PM you my address......thanks to you and all the guys putting this thing together!
Sorry for the stupid question, but what does PM mean???
Personal message.
A "PM" is a private message you can send to another member here through TradGang.
You just double clik on say my name and my profile pops up and in the upper right corner is a Hyper link to open or send a Private Message (PM). We dont need you posting your address on here for God only knows who to get. So you send it to me via PM I put it in my data and send it to your bow maker so they send you your bow.
Kelly
hova, I have no idea how short a trad bow should/could/would be for using in a climbing stand. All I know for sure is that I missed my first shot this fall because the lower limb of my 67" n-t-n hickory slapped the upper portion of my stand...Crap!
I "pound the ground" too, now. LOL.
Stan
i have a 51" d-bow rattling around my brain , maybe youll get lucky and ill draw your name...
-h0v
OK, I'm in again, shoot right hand 45-55 @ 28. Will make a glass bow, don't care what I get in return.
Well 46 bowyers are in. as you sign up PM me your Address, I am ready for anyone who has not sent it in to go ahead. I have enough them that if all of you do it at the same time I want go over the limit of PMs.
Happy new year,
Kelly
ttt

wayne
We are up to 49 Bowyers.
I Can't stand It!Count Me in! I had a blast last year.Im going to try to build either a all bamboo laminated bow or a bamboo backed Ipe or osage.Im dying to back something with bamboo. If that doesent work out it will be an osage self bow. We'll just have to see how things go.Ill shoot anything with a arrow shelf and string.Im RH 55-60# @29"
That makes 50 bowyers in the swap!
Get me your Address via PM if you have not sent them still need 18.
Hey Stiks how many were involved in the swap last year? This is gonna be awesome. Most people, I bet, haven't thought about it but this means we're gonna see a TON of new bows in the next month or so.
Sweet.
yup...a sit ton at that!
i wish i would get my number already. i have bow swap fever...
-hov
Count me in. I kicked myself last year for missing this....
50-55 @ 28" Rh
I will be making a wood bow. I would prefer a glass bow as I own all wood bows.
Thanks,
Juan
This looks like it is going to be fun to see all the bows built this year. I wish I could participate but I've only built one board bow so far in my life and it wouldn't be fair to try to build one for a swap until I get some more experience. Maybe next year.
Meanwhile I'll be waiting for lots of pics.
Ranger44, this is just the thing to push you to do better. I was going to set this one out, but I think I will do it anyway.
I will be building a wood or wood composite longbow.
I don't have a preference as to what bow I would like in swap. I draw 26", am right handed and would like 50# or a little higher in poundage.
Thanks for doing this Stiks and Kelly.
Juan and b,
Welcome to he swap.
Ranger44 I think last year stiks told me it was around 44 give or take.
If you have not sent me you
Mailing Address Please do so.
Kelly
Im in.
will build a selfbow 45-55 lb draw probably osage
have a 26" draw prefer a 45-55# RH glass or other composite bow cause i dont build them.
cant wait to get started
OK, I guess I will try. Count me in. I'll be building a wood bow.
I'm right handed 45-55# @29"
I passed on it last year but would like to play this year. It will be a self bow if my staves are ready or a board bow. I'm not picky on a return bow #40-#65 prefer RH but I shoot LH frist few years.
Going to be fun!
twitchstick,
What is your draw length. PM me you address. I still need address for a few of you. You can PM or email it to me.
Kelly
PS we are up to 55 Bowyers
I'd like to give it a go.
I shoot RH, 50 to 60 lbs @ 29.5", split fingered.
I will be building a mild r/d laminated longbow. I'd prefer a wood bow, since I only have glass ones, but will be happy with whatever I get.
Thanks,
Lane
I'm in again this year.
I typically shoot 55-60# @ 28 inches and am right-handed.
I'll be building either an osage selfbow or a bamboo backed osage bow and it doesn't matter what type of a bow I get.
Cheers,
Steve

Hova,
Don't do that man, you'll jinx me and whoever ends up with my bow. Thanks for the confidence boost though. I'm stoked, this is going to be fun.
i was just messin with ya , cause ya said you'd be happy with whatever...
love seeing ppl signing up for this.
and just so everyone knows , part of the fine print , is that you either post lots of pictures of your build for the swap , or else kellyg will send some 106mm thunder your way....
-0hov
Hova I dont mess with less than 155mm!
i love the smell of a howitzer. my aunt was in the army MP in desert storm , and when her division left for saudi , they had a couple howitzers fire off blanks (i hope) . smelled awesome.
hows the weather over there today. hope its treating you well.keep up the great work.

Ok I'm in. I will be building a wood bow and I'm not concerned about what I get in return. Wood or glass. However I want the return bow to be for my wife. She is right handed and is 24" draw and 35-45 lb range. Also she like "curvy" bows. This should be fun.
ooh ooh ooh, I want Keenan to be my secret bow builder, It's gonna be a lucky dog who gets one of his bows:)
NTD, can we choose who gets our name? LOL!
I'd have someone in mind, too!
Sounds to me as if no one can wait for this to get goin'!
Stan :jumper:
i just saw one of his. it was like a work of art...
-hov
I already have my riser glued up and and index pins and bushings installed. Now I'm just waiting on who I get so I can go with my stack or trim the fat a little. I wish the start date would get here.
Shawn
watched this last year and looked like alot of fun, I'll get in!
I'll be building a glass recurve 54 or 56in.
I shoot RH 42-48lbs @ 28 type don't matter but a selfbow would be cool!
We are 1 shy of 60! Keep those mailing addresses comeing. I cant wait for the start date I want to see some bows.
Kelly
Kelly,
Is it too late to request to be put on the list for a glass bow? My arsenal of wood bows is taking over!
I'm in!
I'll be building a wood bow. I shoot 55-60 @ 27 Right Hand. Thanks a bunch Stiks....this sounds like fun. Bout done with the new shop so I'll break it in right.
Glad you are in Keenan. Too bad my Christmas Exchange bow for Lulyn didn't work out...may still!
Guys, Keenan's wife was the reciepient for my Primitive Archer Christmas Exchange. The bow I was making before Christmas with the crook in the limb was going to Lulyn...until it developed a fret. Had to substitute a basket quiver for the bow but I think she approved! d;^)
AKmud update your Info.
WestTexan makes 60 bowyers.
Keep sending me your address so I can pass it along. If you dont get me an address I will use mine :bigsmyl: and learn to shoot RH.
Stiks glad you are back. How as the hunting?
The hunting wasn't bad, More of a scouting trip and just get away and camp than anything. Got to try my new canvas tent in 40-50 degrees with rain all night one night and the next night it was 18 degrees so I got to test out the wood stove in it.
Worked great and I broke it in good I reckon.
looks like we are gonna have a great turn out for the swap.
Pat B, I'm like you. Glad to see Keenan here Maybe I'll get real lucky this year and draw you or Keenan. Kelly's doing the drawing so it'll help me with the temptation to set myself up real good LOL :scared: He's helping keep me honest for sure. It was hard enough last year but I was pleased with my draw and stayed honest. Ended up giving my bow I got last trade to a good friend and now he's a trad junky :readit: No more wheels for him he said.
I will be keeping the bow I get in this one for sure. I got a few bare spots on my bow rack now. LOL
Stiks
Gosh, thanks for the warm welcome, really looking forward to it.
Pat, Lulyn is still awestruck over that quiver, simply incredible! Thanks again.
Sorry my draw is 28"
I'm in also please.
I would prefer a Selfbow. Something with some curvy character would be very cool!! I draw 29.5" and would like a bow I could hunt with maybe around #50 @ 29.5". Shoot left handed.
I will be making a wood bow (Osage self bow or BBI)
Thanks
Tenbrook
I guess I have hemmed and hawed long enough. I would like to get in on the fun and festivities. I will be building a BBI (love building those things.)
And since the last one I built for AKmud was so well recieved I cannot resist the opportunity to build another.
I draw 29 inches on a good day (when not suffering from target panic) and like to keep em in the 45 to 55 pound range.
(Edited to clear up some confusion)
up top for the late comers.
keep the sign ups coming guys.
Soopernate RH or LF
LMAO....is it possible I can be any more dense today. Lack of sleep is KILLING me right now (thanks to a new puppy) I am right handed lol...Thanks for helping me state what should have been obvious Kelly.
Stiks/Kelly....when is the cutoff date for sign-ups?
I'm in, it was a lot of fun watching the thread from last year, and I think I have enough experience to actually build a decent bow now. I will be making a laminated wood bow, boo on ipe or hickory.
I've got a few good shootin' wood bows now, I would like to get a glass one if possible. Looking for a hunting bow, as my son is really beating on me to get him to the woods. I'm a 30" draw length, right handed, and about 50 lbs is good.
Balding,
It is 13 Jan
sooperante that is what I am here for.
I still need mailing address so please PM me with them any time.

Still shooting great by the way! I'm going to shoot our indoor FITA tourney this weekend with it (sure to be a humbling experience I'm sure...) :)
Thats good to hear. I am thinking something similar for the next one. I never did see those pictures of the bow with your grouse you collected this year. But I am still glad its getting used for what it was intended.
Every one Please go back and review the rules, Stiks put in some info for you.
I have be getting PMs on when will I draw name. I will after the 13th and the sign up is closed. I will verify my date send it to stiks to give it a once over. Once I get it back the drawing will begain. I will post here lett you know when it is done but PM you how you are building for and their info. I ask that you look here just to verify I did not screw up and put them down for the wrong hand # or length.
Keep the Addresses coming my way, and any other info you think I need.
Happy building and God Bless
Kelly
So far we are at 63 bowyers, I know some of you are just lurking just do it already and sign up.
63 is a good bit! how many were there last time?
and as kelly said , if youre not sure , jump in. we're here to help along the way!
-hov
If I remember correctly I think it was 40
yep some where around 40 is what stiks told me, if my memory serves
thats crazy. i had better see at least 59.42 swap bow threads...
-hov
Hova,
Me PatB or Kelly will start a swap bow thread and that way it can all be kept in one thread. Easier to keep track of that way.
But there will be alot of post LOL
hadnt thought of that...good ideas as always gentlemen...
-hov
Heck in a few days my part will be mostly done and I get to just sit back and watch all them pretty bows get made. At least until show and tell time and I have to start checking of who got their bows but until then. Feet up and hot coco in hand. OOOOh forgot I have a stave I need to get to so I can get some practice in before next year. :)
That's right Kelly, you need to get to making some yeller shavin's. YOu ain't gettin out of it next year. LOL
I'm actually getting kinda anxious for the draw. :bigsmyl:
@stiks
i've been anxious about it since i saw the last swap thread
-hov
Whooo hooo!!! this looks like fun! I'm in!
Building a wood bow.
I shoot 45-70# @28" RH Have fun, I know I will
Cuban Missile
Shoot me a PM with your mailing address so I can tell your builder where to send it.
It is getting close, let others know dont want any to say man how did I miss this one.
I made a pile of shavings just tonight.
Kelly
Thanks for organizing again Kris. I want to participate again.
I'll be building a bamboo backed Osage bow.
I'll be happy to receive any bow.
I would like a bow t50 - 55#
Oops... Didn't finish...
I would like a LEFT HANDED bow that pulls 50 - 55# at 27" draw LH
Thanks!
Getting close to wrapping this up. Don't forget the sign up deadline is the 13th. Everyone will have their info by no later than the 17th.
Stiks
Chisler Makes it 65 bowyers, Chisler shoot me a PM wiht your mailing address.
Kelly, you are earning your keep!!! d;^)
I just sent out PM's to all that where in last year that have not signed up yet as a reminder so we may have a few more jumpimg in :bigsmyl:
It would be great to break 75 or better this year. almost double last year.
If it keeps doubling every year we'll have to form a committee LOL
Stiks
If it gets to that many bowyers you will most diffently need more help. The first few days is the worst but I could not image a 100 on the firs day and 10 or so every day after that. :scared:
New page so If you sign up send me PM with our address. The Cuban and Chisler still need yours.
This is getting exciting! Feel like a kid again waiting on Christmass, or something!
Last year I wanted to participate but felt that whoever received a bow I had made would be shorted. Hova and Kelly are right. Just jump in and have a go. This spirit of sharing knowledge and offering help is something we could use a lot more of. You guys on this website have really impressed me with your attitude and responses.
Good luck to everyone,
Stan
aka "red hill" :archer2:
I'm really getting excited myself and have settled on an Osage self bow and will try to keep it "Old school" traditional style as much as possible. I just got a Gizmo as a gift from Eric Krewson and I'm itching to give it a try. This is a neat little bugger and should be awesome at keeping the tiller nice and even throughout.
BTW- I may have missed it somewhere, but is this a completely random draw or will you pair us up with say someone who is looking for an Osage self bow to get mine for example?
If I missed that part of the thread please point me in the right direction.
I've already got a stave picked out for this one.
I'm glad to see so many folks getting involved in this swap. Last year was very successful and (Almost) everyone involved put their best efford forward to make it happen. I think only one person out of 40 reneged on his part of the swap,so that ain't too shabby! His loss!!!
If someone wants to get involved but doesn't think they have the ability or experience, now is the time to get that ability and experience! You have plenty of time to get your Swap Bow completed and with all the seasoned bowyers involved, and the experiences from others that participated last year you will have plenty of help making it happen. BUT!!!, if you are only getting involved so you will get a new bow out of the deal, you will do that, but you will also be going against the spirit of this Bow Swap. This,IMO, is all about making the best bow you can as a gift for someone else. What you get in return is a secondary benefit...and I don't remember hearing any gripeing from anyone about only getting a bow from a novice. I heard only praises about every bow in the Swap; whether from an experienced bowyer or novice. So...
Lets "Get on the Stick" and in the words of the renouned Larry The Cable Guy..."Get 'er Done!!! Happy bow building to all! d;^)
Pat B :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
For anyone who has not been around much or long that is coming from a guy who is just as good a bowyer as anyone on self bows and quivers and well the list goes on. It is about keeping this part of history alive! Passing it on.
Semo_hunter,
It is random except if someone requested a glass or wood bow, unless Stiks corrects me. I will print off my list separate the glass builders and draw for those who want a glass bow. First name out of the hat goes to the first person on my list. Then I will do it for the wood guys. Then mix them together and draw for those who don't care they just want to start building and see what comes. If I draw the name of the bowyer and is the next builder of course I will skip him and put him to the next in line an pull for him.
I will send all of my data to stiks on the close of sign up, he will verify my info, Then send it back to me. Then I will do the above.
Once I draw and get names by everyone and ensure that all getting a bow I will shoot out PMs. It should not take me long. I will take a few PICs of the draw and post just for you.
Kelly
good job kel. patb : on the head of the nail as always.
and yeah , if you are just in the swap so you can half-ass yours to get a work of art , you dont see what this is really about.
this is all about the spirit of giving. getting a gift is just a bonus.
-hov
Im in Right hand 45-55 at 28 backed wood bow
Ok Here is a question for you all. I can make a full length draw if need to. But I love the short sinew bows and would it be a problem to make a short draw bow for whoever I draw? Say 25-26" draw short sinewed or skinned PNW flat bow? I just love these style bows and have more material along this line. I do have some longer staves for an ELB or even war bow material if needed, just wondering if it would be a hinderance to some who have never shot short draw?
Kelly and Stick Will probably want to hang me for complicating and sirring things up. LOL
tell ya what keenan, I have a 26in. draw, so you can just have me for your bow. :-)
If you are drawen to make a bow for me that would be fine .
Pete
I have a short draw anyway.
What do you mean "short 25-26", Keenan? 26" is my draw! Just kidding around. I for one would love to have something like that. Shoot. I'd love to have anything made by anyone on here.
Stan
Which to chose? Hmmmm.... What a dilemma. All I need is a name and specs. Anybody else getting a little antsy? Can't wait to make some wood chips.

Count me in too. I'll be building a glass bow of some sort. I shoot LEFT HAND, 35-50 lbs at 29" tillered for 3-under. I will be happy with any bow that I receive.
Short draw or "pony" style bow also fine with me. Not to mention... Keenan's stuff is always top shelf tiller and drop jaw easy on the eyes. I should be so lucky.
Keenan I think I can learn to shoot short draw LOL
Seriously, I think I can.
25.5" just HAPPENS to be my draw length, ;) Keenan
Looks like Keenan is in high demand
OK!!OK!! I'm in. I guess I've waited long enough to sign up.
I will be building a wood bow probably osage.
45-55# at 26" I shoot righthanded.
I'll shoot wood or glass so either will be fine.
It sure is good to see so many getting in on the trade this year. Let the fun begin!!
Thanks Kris for the PM's.
David
Thanks for the explanation Kelly, that makes sense and I kinda figured it would go something like that. This is going to be my first time in this so I'm completely new to how it all works.
Here's the one I made for my nephew for Christmas and the one I build for this trade will be along the same lines.
that sounds pretty hot keenan. im sure anyone here would be more than happy to get something from you.
i wouldnt be against drawing keenan , if i was ever so lucky...
luckily its all luck , and kelly is a straight shooter.
-hov
2 more and we 70 bowyers. This has to be a record of some sort.
Kelly
Count me in. I will probably be building a self bow but will definitely be an all wood bow.
I draw 28" 50-55 lbs. And shoot Right handed.
Thanks, Im looking forward to this agian!
I need a few address from some of the newest to sign up. I is so I can tell your builder where to send you bow. They can always send it to me. :bigsmyl:
Kelly
I know of one or two more that will be along shortly.
Kelly I don't know what you would do with all them sticks showing up in the desert LOL we would have to put together an arra build and swap so you would have sticks to fling.
I really been thinking about ordering a real special stave for this but I ain't made up my mind. I got some real nasty osage in the garage just begging to be wittled on.
ok ill take it stiks.
would love me a gnarly character stick...
-hov
Stiks I am sure if you walk out there one of them staves will yell at you and let you know he is the right one.
BrianO left or right handed. Shoot me a PM with your mailing address aslo.
Let's get this up top and keep it there.
I know there are some guys just pondering getting in. Jump on it. Heck you got six months to build a bow or two or three if something goes wrong.
Stiks
1 more and we are at 70.
Semo, great picture.. And nice bow.
:) I would like to give it a go. I am getting back into Traditional archery and have 2 members here who have graciously offered to teach me how to build a bow :notworthy: . I will build a wood bow almost for sure maybe R/D longbow. I sure love this site, with all the good people. :clapper:
Looking forward to this. Just hope I don't mess it up.
I pull about 27" and about 45#'s to 55#'s
Is it the 13th yet :jumper: :jumper: :)
SEMO, would it be a safe bet to say you'rea favorite uncle this year?
Stan :saywhat:
1oldbowguy, what part of AR do you call home? I'm in ElDorado and there are several other members from across the state.
Stan
Stan, I live in Hot Springs. I have talked with 3 great members so far living in Arkansas. Great people here one and all.
:) Stan, P.M. sent ;)
im in
Ill be making some kind of wooden bow, probably a bilam R/D. Will take any bow but would prefer an osage or glass bow since all of mine are hickory. I shoot #45-60 @29" Right handed.
Quote...since all of mine are hickory.
Bowur: Did the osage recurve I made you for last year's trade not work out for you?
Man this is getting good!
i cant take it any longer...im going to 'splode...
As long as the bow your building don't 'splode hova
wouldnt be the first time...
still wondering if im going to be able to heat-straighten the 360" twist out of it...
if not someone is getting a selfbow/emergency propeller...
I would like to sign up.Will build an Osage self bow or BBO.
I shoot right hand,28 in.,40-45 lb.If possible would like a glass
longbow as I don't have one but will be happy with anything.
I'll play. Does that make it 73?
Boo backed ipe.
I shoot RH #50 ± 5 @ 28" wood, glass or anything else that casts an arrow will be cherished.
Great idea. Missed it last year.
Aram
OK, I've gone back and forth on getting into this swap long enough.
I'm in! Just looks like too much fun to miss.
I'll be building a Hill style glass laminated longbow.
I'd prefer a RH 50 - 60# @ 28" glass laminated bow (recurve or longbow), but I've also always had a hankerin' for an osage selfbow.
Stiks & KellyG - Thanks for organizing this. I'll send you a PM with my address.
Looking forward to getting started.
John
Hova, I think quite a few folks are feelin' it, bro!
Stan
Alright got the new boyers signed up need a few address still,
BrianO and 1oldbowguy you right of left handed,
Arman yes you were 73 but just like that we are at 74.
If you want a bow get me your address if you have not done so.
Kelly
Kelly get this guy signed up
eman614
count me in stiks. i'll be making a glass bow. and i'd like a right handed bow. wood or glass makes no difference, and i'd like the draw weight to be between 60 and 65# at 28".
thanks for getting this going again.
eric
Eric sent me a PM and I wantt omake sure you get him. If he post again don't double enter him.
Stiks
Stiks,
He is added, just shot him a pm asking for an Address.
He makes 75 bowyers.
Kelly
4 more days to get in and if we can get 5 more guys on that means this years swap has doubled from last year.
AWSOME! I took a vacation this week and I'm firing up the saw to go cut some yeller wood and work on a few stave that are dry already.
Stiks
With 75 bowyers we should ask for a seperate forum just to keep track of all the progress pictures :)
Now that is funny.
wow 75! Think of all the pics!
three more days.
Stiks you know I am 8 hours ahead of eastcoast time just say the word and we will use my clock.LOL
johan : that is an excellent idea. that way the bench wouldnt be cluttered so much . maybe rob D can make us our own little sub-sub forum...
i vote we use kelly's clock...
0-hov
If you made it a sub you could not make people jelous of your new bow. I know more are reading this and watching. Some have never seen one before and don't understand the hype. They will soon enough.
Kelly
10-9-8-7-6-5-4- Hint Hint
I pretty worked up myself but I will post the last post to close the thread and Kelly and I have to work out a few details on who gets Glass and who gets wood cause some only shoot either or then kelly will getthe draw done and send out info.
I would like to go ahead and draw but I want to give guys that are pondering plenty of time.
Stiks
Sorry Sticks, I didn't realize it was already the deadline,,,,just trying to encourage any who were sitting on the fence.
No apoligy needed Keenan, I'm just as anxious as the rest. I was just letting everybody know that I will close the thread and It will begin.
By the way is it the 13th yet? LOL
im pretty sure its the 13th somewhere...
get to it already!
-hov
is it to late. ruddy
No way ruddy, Sign up buddy the more the merrier.
Sign ups stop on the 13th. The deadline for shipping a bow is july the 9th so you got time to sign up and plenty of time to build a bow.
Stiks
this is awesome. I'm definitely looking forward to this again. I've just about got baldingkansan's bow finished, but I was hunting all weekend and work, and... You know what they say about excuses. Sticks, I still haven't even shipped out your tip material yet either. I didn't forget!
No hurry on the tip material Dave I think the two pass around bow are gonn be finished just before my trade bow.
just got done talkin with stiks-n-strings on the phone. im in. a selfbow for a selfbow. im building an osage bow about 45- 50#@ 28" draw. i would like to reseave something in the same draw weight. it doesnt matter if its hickory , ash, red elm , hackberry, hop hornbeam, mulberry, or vinemaple, or osage. backed or unbacked. i love selfbows. i hope the recipient of the bow i build will be proud. ruddy
Glad you are joining us Ruddy. Wait til you see what shows up in pics. and now over 75 bows.
Dang I go away for a few days and everything blows up with the swap. 75 bowyers...awesome
ruddy , maybe ill get ya , is heartland black locust an acceptable choice?
-hov
ive never seen a bow made of black locust before, not a selfbow anyway. ruddy
Black locust makes a great selfbow
Ruddy you left or right handed.
I'm in.
I can build a selfbow or a sinew backed bow or a boo backed recurve or long bow, all wood no glass.
I shoot right handed and would like a wood or glass bow 50-55 lbs.
Thanks,
Mark Smeltzer
Sorry meant to say 50-55@26"
Mark
Mark glad to see you get in bud. I've been working on my yew stave a little and chasing a ring on the sap like you suggested. Very tedious work. I'll be posting some pics of it after I get my swap bow done.
As far as what to build, you'll get the specs and you can build whatever your heart desires.
Stiks
And just like that we are up to 77 bowyers.
If you have not sent me you address do so. I have sent out PMS and one email, It is less than a 1/2 dozen that I need.
Thanks,
Kelly
I don't know if it is possible, but would be cool to know what you want to use the bow for.. target or hunting.. might help in deciding what the bow will look like??? hint.. hint.
Just a thought.
Myself.. I am a target guy.. so can be creative.
I'll go ahead and get in this before it's too late.
I'll be making a selfbow of course.......
Will swap for anything; wood, glass, left, right handed, 40lbs and up.
hey kelly, i prefer a bow that doesnt have a rest. shoots off the knuckle. this way anyone can shoot it with no issues. im ambedextrious.
Ruddy ingore my PM sent it before I read this,
Osagetree glad to see ya here, and you make a selfbow say it aint so. What is your draw lenghts shoot me a PM with your address.
We are close to the deadline and have 78 bowyers.
Man this is goining to be good
shoooot. two more days we'll probably break a hundred.
maybe not , but im going to say that the total builders will be 83 (my lucky nunber)
i feel like a swap addict. im just jonesin for some swap....
my name is hov and im a swapaholic...
---Hi hov....
Are you kidding me!!! Its only the 11th!
i'm in. had a great time doing it last year, and look forward to doing it again this year. i'll be making a glass laminated d/r longbow. it makes know diference to me if i get an all wood bow or not. just so long as the draw weight is above 60lbs and below 70lbs, and shoots right handed i'm good with it.
thanks again for all those who get this thing organized.
eric
eric,
Stics signed you up on page 14. :) If you would shoot me a PM with your mailing address.
It is my pleasure to help out, give me something to do.
I less than 3 hours it will be the 12th here.
Kelly
so its the 12th now?
i think you need to start writing the names on paper . its going to take you forever...
-hov
hova take a deep breathe and step away from the key board :knothead:
Tick - Tock, Tick - Tock.... Man time sure is crawling........d;>)
youre not even kidding...
i know , once i get the specs , im not going to do anything for a week anyways...
-hov
Well, I've debated on this one. It's gotten awfully big, but I guess I'll add to the confusion. I don't envy you, Stiks.
I'll be building a glassed Hill style. I can go normal riser - straight (either rear or forward), dished (rear only), or deep locator forward riser (old Schulz style). Left hand, right hand, or classic no shelf shoot off the hand ambidextrous. No telling what wood I'll use. When I go down to the shop they all start yelling that they want to be used and I generally listen to whichever one yells the loudest. I specialize in light weight bows if you've got a youth or lady needing a bow, or if you're old and smart like me, but I can go up to 45 to 50. Above that I have trouble tillering and getting the smooth draw I like as I can't draw them. I'm not real great at hitting an exact poundage, a few pounds plus or minus scope helps, especially at the upper end.
For myself, I prefer a true longbow, don't mess much with them curvy things, and about 23# to 28# at 25". I have physical limitations and can't draw much more than that for regular shooting.
Guess that covers it for now.
Dick, I'm sure whatever you settle on will be a true work of art. If you happen to get my name I would accomodate your style of bow making by letting you build one for my nephew. I made him one for Christmas (Osage Longbow trad style) that I hit 20lb. at 23" right on the nose. I'm positive that he will outgrow it in a short while so this would be an awesome oppurtunity to get him something heavier to grow into and pass the tradition on to the next.
I just keep fanning the flames and he shoots like he is on fire! I'm sure my little buddy Tucker would be honored to get one of your bows.
Just wanted to throw that out there in case whoever gets my name makes a lighter poundage bow than what I have listed for myself.
Tucker would do very well in a couple of years with a 30ish poundage at about 25" by the time he's 10 or 11 years old. Boy, I'd have a hard time keeping it from him that long, I feel like he's my son and not my brother's boy. :archer:
Dick I'm really glad to see you get in bud. I'm pretty sure I know a feller that can pull some strings and make sure everything works out great for everybody. ;)
Stiks

funny thing to say here...
-hov
Never tried anything like this before but say, I'm in. I shoot around 40 to 45# @ 29" draw, right handed pull. Gonna build a wood bow. Would take any kind. Never had a longbow? Good luck and happy building fellow bowmen. Thanks
Which stave would you choose, cant decide, just hope someone likes character. (http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy292/kerryb19/bowswap010.jpg) (http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy292/kerryb19/bowswap016.jpg)
Kerry that stave with two knots in it would be what I would go after. I'm a sucker for a a big ol' knot hole in a bow.
That's the one I want. Kris. You can't have that one!!!
Kerry, I'm sure which ever you choose will please the reciepient.
BTW, the draw knife I got from you at the Classic last year has helped me out well on my last few bows.
Well Gene and Dick make it drum roll 80 bowyers, pop the champain.
Hahaha it is the 12th here has been for over 6hrs now.
Kerry, the stave with the white "x" looks good to me.
Ok well i've thought about this for sometime and if it's not to late to get in on it i wouldn't mind entering. I'd be building a selfbow, though i'm not sure it will or not be a board bow, however i can only build up to 50# well at this point. I pull 55-60# at 29" and don't have any preferance except that I can shoot it right handed. :)
oh forgot Kerry you have over half the other drooling right now on their key boards.
I forgot to tell stiks I can be bribed. Cane shaft, maybe a flint head, woven quiver, any one would sway me. just funnin now don't take me seriously.
Kelly
hey kerry i got first dibs here lol the middle one with the knots and dont forget the copperheads lol brock p s if ya can pull some string ill go a step futher make a yew long bow !!!
I like knots. here is one i built this fall (http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy292/kerryb19/bowpics2004.jpg) It's Osage with Flathead catfish skins.
Kerry that is what I am talking about. Love them holes in a bow. Guys look at you when you show up with something like that and think "What the!" then you just start flinging the arras.
Stiks
i love that middle stave. that thing screams character
-hov
Kelly I had mentioned that I hoped it would double this year and it has mor than doubled and still two more days.
WOW! gonna be great. oh yeah and if any body don't get a bow built and shipped Kelly has your addy and can send a missle or something to remind you :scared:   Well maybe just an email.
Wow very nice Kerry. Love the bow with the hole and as far as the staves, I'd grin from ear to ear over any one of them. This should be fun!

THIS bow is sooooooooo cool! Sweet bow!!!
Ok I figured I better do this as we get closer. Please verify your info. I only need a response if something is wrong.
This is only the basic info asked for in the beginning, I did not include the address or other info PMed me.
If forgot to put you on the list let me know I did not leave anyone off it just means I missed you. I always tried to check and recheck every page. I will be going over it also checking my data again, then sending it to stiks for his review.
The yellow highligts just means I dont have you mailing Address when I created this image.

Kelly you are on it my friend.
NOTE TO ALL I have about 5 or six guys that wish NOT TO SHIP OUT OF THE US this is fine and understandable due to jobs and different circumstances I completely understand. We have about 5 or so guys that live out of country that signed up and I ok'd it. I shipped to Switzerland last year through USPS for around 45$ or so. Average price for shipping in the states is around 25$ or less.
IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THIS JUST DROP ME A PM
Stiks
Stiks,
When I send you the list it has that info on it, also. I left it out, and address but it is on my list.
That is what 81 bowyers on a list looks like.
So Stiks when are you closeing the sign up high noon midnight what.
Kelly
I shipped mine to Canada last year and I think it was about $40
Alright I'm in again.....stiks talked me into it.
RH
50-60#'s @ 29"
I'll be hackin' out an osage longbow. More than likely unbacked, with a little character.
I'd prefer glass to even up my bow rack, but anything will do!!! I'm excited!
I think I will wait until tomorrow around noon eastern standard time unless no one else signs up today if we don't have anyone else get in today by midnight I'll go ahead and close it so Kelly and I can get it all sorted and start sending info.
Stiks
Sounds good Kris thanks again for you and Kelly's hard work.
thats what im talkin about!!!

:clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Trust me it is my pleasure.
Hope everone glances at there info and lets me know if it is not good. I have had a few PMs already and that is a good thing.
Kris the good thing is once I send you the list you can save it and next year you will only have to add the new bowyers and take out the few who dont come back.
Just shoot me a PM Stiks when you closer up til next years sign up. I will then shoot you the data. You once over it ensure I missed nothing.
Shoot it back to me with any new info I messed or you need to add.
I will then print off 2 copies one I will cut the name off of and put in a hat, bag or bowl and have my soldier draw names out until I have put a name by each bowyer. (I will do this for the 3 groups, Glass, wood and N/A).
kelly, mine was good as long as they know it's 45 and up if needed, if lower...well that okay to. Thanks.
Oh it is the 13th here already.
got you DVSHUNTER.
Who doesn't like character?
Alright, I'll play- looks like too much fun to just watch. I'll build something made of wood. I shoot 45-55# @ 29.5"
Cool another cheesehead !
So tomorrow is the magic day (today if you're KellyG)to find out who we're all building for. The downside for me is that I have to go out of town for work and won't be back to check into TradGang until late Friday :( But I guess it gives me something to look forward too.
Earlier this evening, I was leafing though some back issues of Trad Archer's World and an idea hit me. I think documenting this bow swap would make for a real nice article in Trad Archer's World (or Traditional Bowhunter).
What do you all think?
I've published quite a few articles in scientific fisheries journals, but never an article in a popular magazine and it's always been something I've wanted to do. So if you all think this good idea, I'd like to take it on with some help from you guys fillin' in some of the info, providing some pics (which I know there will be plenty of), and reviewing drafts.
This could be some great exposure for the fellowship within TradGang and all the fine craftsmen here.
Let me know what you think.
John
sounds awesome to me.
as long as it's cool with terry I thing it will be cool.
DVSHUNTER - good advice. I'll check with Terry to see if it would be OK.
I don't want to step on any toes with this idea, so if anyone has any objections, please let me know.
John
Sounds neat jsweka
Dont worry the sign up closes and I have to send my info to Stiks who onces overs sends it back then I draw and shoot out PMs. Friday would be the earlies I would say it would get out.
Kelly
are you friggin kidding me?! friday ?! omg i need to check my blood pressure.
-hov
wait nevermind , friday for you is in like an hour..
I'm cool with the article idea if Terry is alright with it.
Stiks
I got everyone info so far so until the next bowyer signs up I am ready. tic toc tic toc.
Kelly I'm gonna go ahead and do it looks like everyone has plenty of time to get in I got a few PM's from a few guys that i was waiting to hear from so I am gonna call it so me and Kelly can get after it,
SIGN UP IS CLOSED
Kelly if youy want to email what you have as soon as you see this I will get to looking at it and we will get the draw started.
Stiks
John, the article sounds great, as long as there are no problems with the mods.
By the way, anyone catch Osagetree on the news? We don't get that station down here in the boondocks...
Red I was wondering that myself about Joe in the news. I'll have to see if'n I can find it on the net.
Well I'll look over the list real good tomorrow morn when I get the email from Kelly and we'll go from there.
I'm hitting the hay Ladie and gentlemen see you in the morning when I get back from my trap line.
Stiks

-hov

Wow. 83. More than doubled last year. That's awesome gang. Now let's see some bows...
Put me in, I would like an osage selfbow if possible or a glass bow. RH 45-50 @28
I will be building a glass long bow
Sign up is closed.
Kelly if it ain't to much trouble get James in since we haven't sent out any info yet.
I did not get the email I need you to resend it Kelly
kelly try not to let james draw my name. its not that he doesnt make an awesome bow , but he literally just sent me one.
someone else deserves the chance to behold some of that beauty he creates.
-hov
You might want to change that to 82 bowyers,I'm not sure I count! I did find Two pieces of red oak yesterday that I can splice. frist ones in a year of looking!
Stiks I have resent the info let me know if you got it. Darn hova you should have told me earlier, oop forget I said that. LOL
No twitchstick it is still 83 and you.
James shoot me a pm with your address.
I guess I can't get out of it that easy. I better get started splicing and working on some staves then.
I've got a stave already picked out and I'm ready to start, just need a name and some specs.
I'm excited and really looking forward to this.
Great Job so far Kelly, I know your busy and I don't think I told you yet that I appreciate all the work your doing with this bow swap, building your own recently, and defending our country all at the same time. You've got alot on your plate, so thanks for everything Bud! :clapper:
Thanks Semo,
Oonce stiks give me the thumbs up I have everything ready. I did have to for go shooting today. I try to get 25 or so arrows in. Did not today or the day before. Sometimes you have to work.
It is my pleasure and honor,
Kelly
Sweet! So who did I get?? :readit: (patience may be a virtue but it isn't necessarily mine!) :)
This is what I have also been doing.
and my assistant. She helped me cut up them little strips and she pulled the names and I wrote them down.
She said she wanted to be famous so I told her 25,000 viewers could be watching, she gave a little pause.
I sent stiks the raw data before the draw so he could give her the once over. Once he gives me the go ahead I will start PMing like mad. There was a hiccup in the first email I sent.
please once I send you the let me know if I forgot you I will post when I have sent them all. If I send you two name LET ME KNOW ASAP. I have checked and rechecked and I am sure I have not screwed up to bad.
If so stiks can dock my pay.
Kelly
OoH I have a PM from stiks now did I screw up or is it the go ahead. I dont want to look.
Three cheers for the 13th!
I feel like the 13th will be my lucky number!
Looking forward to this one!
No screw up Kelly, it is the Go Ahead !!!
Well Go Ahead! Who did I get? Better yet who got me? Now I know how bad it was killing everyone last year just waiting to see who they got a bow from. LOL Kinda feels good! LOL
Its like Christmas all over again. I can't wait.
Adam

first Pm sent and 83 to go and no I want count down every one
When you get your info from Kelly don't PM him back unless there is a problem. It will flood hin PM inbox and he won't get them all.
Stiks
Oh yeah, I know who I got. Now I got to get to plannin something good. :bigsmyl:
10 plus down check those PMs I just had to get some water.
AWESOME!
Sweet! Let the shavings fly! :)
Thanks for your work Kelly!
I am about third of the way done then sleep. My work will be done until they start shipping.
Still eagerly awaiting my PM. Hova I'm surprised you haven't responded about the beginning of the trade... maybe you've passed out because the excitement was too overwhelming :D
Oh goose you just need to read your PMs so I can delete it.
goose I think I know whats up with hova, he is afraid if he comes on he will spill the beans on how he has gotton.
:readit: :bigsmyl:
Cant take PMs I am over my limit. I still have around 20 to send. As soon as I see yoy have read the message I will delete them.
Thanks, Kelly! Got mine and now I need to get on the stick.
Stan
I had that same problem last year Kelly had to send some out and wait.
You can delete all PM's between me and you and maybe that will give you a little room
so far It is letting me send them I have 75 there know and just recieved 3. I have deleted a few. I just want to make sure people get them, be fore I delete them
I have 5 more and it is 2am.
lucky i dont have to get up to early.
Got mine, thanks Kelly..
Ok it is 0230hrs here and I just sent off my last PM all 84 bowyers should know who you got if I double posted you sorry was falling asleep and could not rember if I had sent it.
Stiks I guess you should close this thread down and start a new one. Maybe reminde folk to post pics but not any name of who it is for.
Night have fun my work is done (til you finish and I have to keep track of who sent and recieved)
Kelly
Let the wood chips fly.
Now the torment begins. Every Time you see a bow being built you hope it will be for you. When someone else posts about receiving it, you think oh no the one I get will never be that cool. Then another thread pops up and this bow is even sweeter than the last one. Maybe this one??? Sure is going to be fun.
Hey Guys
Last year I wished I had gotten in on the fun, but I didn't think my skills were up to par for trading. When I watched every one haveing fun makeing and getting their bows I couldn't wait till this year. Well I didn't sign up this year due to beeing out of a job since July. :(
So once agine I will enjoy watching form side lines and waiting for next year.
cobbow sorry to hear that. I know the ecomy is will down the out house. Heck building a bow is what you need to take your mind off things for a little while trust me I know. Heck in arkansas I know some farmer some where is cuting down hedge right now pushing it in a pile to be burned. You never know. Get you a few staves ready for next year.
yeah i think the 13th was my lucky day... today not so much. the jeep has a water pump issue , and i think the dead cell in the battery has corrupted the other good cells... it still starts and runs , but shows no voltage at all at the battery or anywhere else...
can we say zombie battery?
still unsure of my draw though , sending a confirmation to stiks.
