i am going to try and build my own longbow from the bingham projects. I understand the limb desing is very spefic as it should be. I own a longboe that I will not ever trade.sell> I am thinking about thinking abput copying his riser.
If you like that riser there is no reason not to copy as close as you can.
After all everything has already been done somewhere.
Good luck,
Ron
I say go for it. That's one reason for building your own. You can make it like you want. Just be careful about changing the limb profile and the angle of the risre fades. A little change can make alot of difference in hitting your desired weight and create undesired(and sometimes desired) effects on your finished bow. Also, don't cut your arrow shelf or throat of the riser too deep. May cause it to be weak. Good luck, Mike
Imitation is the highest form of flattery, So go for it. I copied my K-Mag's grip on my self bows which eventually lead me to start designing my own, but with some background instead of blindly.
Good luck and have fun with it.
