Title: bamboo limb tips?
Post by: md126 on December 11, 2010, 08:16:00 AM
hello,

if a bow had bamboo limb tip overlays would it be ok for FF?  i know it is strong and light but is it hard enough, even w/ padded loops?

thanks,    mike

I have never used bamboo for overlays but because of the longitudinal fibers I would pick something else.

I've been using padded FF strings on several hickory bows without any overlays. One on a friend Osage without overlays. Just my opinion here, but I think you'll be just fine with a good padded FF string with what you mentioned.....Art
