I was wondering if a well made sinew backed bow would be expected to last a lifetime or does one buying it expect to get maybe 5-10 years out of it.
There are shootable Asiatic horn bows with sinew backing that are 500 to 600 years old.
If the bow is cared for properly it should outlast you.
I bought a sinew-backed osage from Mike Yancey; he told me he has bows that are 10 years old that still shoot at the same poundage as when he built them....

I agree with this. All about how well it is cared for.
It will last forever
Good thanks to everyone that responded.
It also depends on how well the bow was tillered in the first place. Sinew is a great backing but it will not magically fix poor tiller work.
