what are people using for bow scales? I bought a hand held Allen scale, then an OMP digital scale. Both were junk. any suggestions for a reasonable priced scale. I'd prefer a hand held scale, not on you have to tie to the ceiling.
I hit the local feed store, they had a 50# and a 100# but then again mine hangs from the I beam holding up my carport.
They have been very accurate for me. I use the 50 for pulling weight on the tiller tree for my all wood bows.

I use a fish scale from walmart.50 lbs max.cheap, and I guess it will work until I figger out how to make a bow.
I have a Hanson and one of those black ones that you hook onto te string and draw back. I pull several times and average it out. That's close enough for me.

Ken, I picked up the Weston 90 lb. pull scale and it seems to work decent.
This is the scale I use. It can be used as a hand held or hung from a hook. It is larger than the one pictured above.

go on evil bay and try look up travel scales i have one 110lbs accurate as can be and shipped to my door for $13.50... the cool thing about this one is that i can nock an arrow for measuring and hold it at full draw for 5 sec and it stores the readout pretty handy when theres not a second person arround to check the scale.
