So I've finally finished this latest one -- it's a three-piece takedown recurve. It's 62" ntn with curly maple limbs under clear glass with brown glass on the belly. The riser is curly hickory (from Kenny M) and a really nice piece of figured walnut I found at the bottom of a pile in my dad's shop. The blue accent stripes are strips of micarta I made from some cheap Wal-Mart fabric and some fiberglass resin. It finished out at 55lbs, which is only a few pounds heavier than I was aiming for, but that's how Binhams works! The tips are the micarta and some deer antler, and the knobs are antler that I carved a little with the dremel. The little dots above the knobs are just some antler plugs I used over the pin holes. Anyway, enjoy!

These pics really don't do that wood grain justice. It really shimmers in the light. Thanks to Kenny for that amazingly beautiful wood.
I've got to give her away this weekend, but she needs a name. Got any ideas? I'm stuck.
Beautiful job! I really like the deer print detail on the take down knobs.
That's some amazing work. How about Deer in Lakota: (Buck) / TABLOKA / dah - bloh - kah.
Here's a link to the page I found it on. I'm not native american or anything, but that's what I thought of.

Good luck giving her away!
Outstanding work. I am sure glad you reclaimed that piece of walnut at the bottom of the barrel...nice piece.
That is a beauty!! Love everything about it.
I "stela" your bow.
Joe, that is SWEET!!
NICE JOB BRO!!
Beatiful!!!!
Exotic woods are nice, but I personally have a preference for domestic woods. Walnut and curly maple just can't be beat!
I agree with everyone, that is a nice looking bow. Great job.
Thanks everyone! I appreciate the comments. Any idea for a name? I'm still stuck and I've got to say goodbye tomorrow!
Fancy work, bet you did not keep track of the hours. Good Hunting Knifemaker
Nice looking bow.
Excellent, just excellent work on that TC. I've worked with Hickory but none of it was nearly as attractive as that which you purchased off Kenny. That is just an incredible piece of wood, as well as the figured walnut.
I, too, appreciate the domestic woods matched intelligently in a riser section. The micarta adds much to this bow's appeal, too.
just got a semi.......
Man, you have a lot of hours in that riser alone. superb craftsmanship.
Just off hand if she were mine, I would name her Jayne... for a full figured actress I once knew....
Very nice work.
Mike
