Title: best finish from a can
Post by: JamesV on September 10, 2010, 11:53:00 AM
I have used Lacquer and Urathane from a can and had problems with both. Now I am using Krylon Crystal Clear (Acrylic). This stuff is great. dries in 10 min, recoat anytime and it fills the grain. Dries over oily wood and can be sprayed over existing finish. Does not yellow like Polly. Sand between coats for a glass finish. Have any of you guys used this product????

I've used it when I need a quick arrow finish, works well and acetone based glues like duco stick pretty good

I use Deft satin over a tru oil finish. It's a lacquer and is the best wood finish on the market in my opinion.

What kind of problems did you have with the spray lacquer you were using?

When I sprayed lacquer over and old finish it raised the finish and I had to strip the bow. I used urethane over purple heart/walnut and had drying problems also had the same problem with wipe-on polly. Have only used the Krylon Crystal Clear on two bows with no issues so far.
