Well here goes bow two. Same as bow one, hickory backed jatoba. This one is about 71" ntn, and 1-1/8th" thick to midlimb tapering to just under 1/2" I glued in about an inch of reflex and kept about half of it. I'm aiming for something in the 60-70lb range at 29. The first bow I ended up with a whip tiller and ended up missing my weight trying to fix it.
So now, I'm consulting you guys earlier, and starting tillering from the inside out. I have it pulled to 55# in the photos. so I hope to get everything bending well, then reduce along the whole length of the limb until I come near target weight. Btw, I have a gizmo.. but I put too big of nut in it, so I have to fix it before I can use it.
Anyway, Photo:

Thanks in advance
I'm thinking it's time for a short string.
That looks perfect to me.
Looks even but there isn't much bend. I agree with Apex. Bend it a little more with the short string and don't forget the gizmo.

Mid limb on needs work on both limbs. I like the limbs bending well out to 10 inches of string movement. I check weight and look for target weight at that measurement. This puts the stave at 15# over final target weight. Then I string it. More on my site. Jawge

Thanks guys, I'll get some more time to work on it tonight. Courses don't leave me with a lot of opportunity to work on it. I'll shorten up the string tonight and start tillering from brace, and George I was worried it was too stiff midlimb but I was not sure.
Thanks

Keep us in the loop, Adam. jawge
Slightly embarrassed here, I can't brace her. The shortest I can get the string is about to an inch brace or so... I'll borrow a stringer tonight, but as it stands now, I just don't have the muscle to brace 50-70 lbs or where ever she is. I'll also post some more photos tonight, I did some more tillering on the slightly shorter long-string. At the end of last night she had about an inch of set total, so about 1/2" past straight limbs. Hopefully its just the high humidity around here and shell recover after relaxing and drying off. I also fixed my gizmo, so I'm using it now. Like I said more to come tonight.

Here she is on the shorter long string, still no stringer. I'll find one tomorrow. Need to play a little catch up on the left.

looks pretty good so far remember that patience is the key to bowmaking and every bow you make always try to learn something from it
Well guys, this one died. The back on the lower limb cracked across the back in two places. Two little pin knots are to blame for that one. Tried to strip the backing but did too good of a job with the TB III and the belly ripped out on the bottom limb. Top limb is good though, cut her off at the handle, may end up making a crossbow prod out of her. Ah well. Live and learn. My only shooter went on me yesterday, so now I'm up a creek for deer season, gotta hurry now. Also have to move the dehumidifier out of the room my bows were in, I think both may have dried out.
Adam
I get the feeling this one should have bent in the handle. Maybe next time.
