living in little back woods Baumholder is cool most of the time, but finding good wood around here is kind of a pain.
does anyone know of a place that has a good rep for selling decent lumber like Osage or Yew? or even a good quality bow kit of Osage?

There is no way I would buy lumber for a bow that I didn't pick out. No way.I might buy from an honest to goodness certified bowyer but even then a lot of'em don't know board bows. No lumber yards near you? Oak, maple are good and available in most places. Jawge
the only lumber yard near me has nothing usable and the Germans there have horrible English.. and my German is just as bad.
I've ordered a fiberglass bow blank from dryad, but i'm getting really tired of waiting so i want to work on another wood bow to kill time..
hopefully my new arrow shafts dont take to long to get here, staining and fletching them should keep me busy for at least a few days! :biglaugh:
Ah Germany! I couldn't find any hardwood boards there either. I made a bow in Germany for my daughter. We think it was a chestnut sapling. If you must buy board wood sight unseen make sure you buy it from a bowyer is my advice. Jawge
Pinehollow Longbows and Raptor Archery are good and they are sponsors. Jawge
Dryad is also top notch.
Some of the members on here have staves for sell at times. Shipping to Germany may be a problem though.

If were you, I'd look up and call or visit some cabinet shops. Look up the german words for beech, oak, etc and maybe flat grained, etc. I have a friend that is a cabinet maker in germany, and when I visited they had some magnificent hardwood on hand.
