Does anybody know of a bowyers school
I read in vol. 1 of TBB that Jim Hamm has intensive seminars at his home. Since he put contact info in TBB I'll post it here:
Bois d'Arc Press 4
PO Box 233
Azle, TX 76020
I've corresponded with him via email and he's a generous, helpful man. Look up the Bois d'Arc Press in Google to find his email contact.
Then there's the school of hard knocks (knots?).

I think I heard Horne's have a class??
If its sinew backed bows you want to learn get in touch with Ed Scott in Grants NM. 505-287-8134.
I had been building bows for 15 years and went out there for a week with Ed and had more fun making bows than I have had in years. I had lost the passion to build them I guess but after that week with Ed the love of building bows is back again.
We worked on bows for 12-14 hours a day for a whole week and at the end of the day it was like we had been at it for an hour or so. I left there with three finished bows, three roughed out bows and more little tricks than you can count.
Ed is a very neat and special guy, he can teach you the smallest of things that will help in the biggest of ways.
It was by far the best money I heve ever spent!

John Strunk from the Bowyers Bible also does classes cheap. You just have to get there and he does an 8 hour class for little of nothing. I learned a lot from John and have sense built many bows and they look great. I have to say John is a wealth of knowledge and it is amazing how he gets so many bows made out of the little shop that he has. If your real lucky Pat his wife might make cookies while your there.
