nice and simple...thanks.  How far are the holes, bout 4"?

Its about 3" reflex @ around 68" or 70" and the holes are spaced evenly from the middle to the tips

Sorry for posting a link from another site, but I found this extremely informative.  It's a Gary Davis style caul.  I use one and it really helps make "junk" into bows.  :)

2x6 pine, 66" long.  This is just half of it but divide the width and half the length by 6.  Connect the dots like in the pic.  Cut the curve.

This may be a silly question but do you heat or treat the bow (soak in water?) in any way before setting it up in the caul? And how long do you leave it in the caul?

Dry heat or steam, then clamp'r down starting from the handle to the tips. Some leave them a week, some leave them till they cool. Time is variable depending on wood & wet or dry heat.
