Just got these in the mail today. I think I got a heckuva good deal. Only paid 54 bucks for the 3 and that included shipping. I'm already seeing an almost centershot bow from the stave on the right in the first pic. Going to take alot of heat and bending but I think I can get a bow out of em. Whadda ya'll think.

Definitely bows in those staves. Check out my TradGand Bow Trade build along. I believe all that heating helps to temper the wood. Get them down to floor tiller stage and they bend lots easier.
nice rings... :)
glad it's you doing it and not me... LOL.

They look very challenging! I bet you'll learn plenty with those staves.
Great looking wood. I look forward to seeing them when they are flinging cane or cedar.
Looks like you got a great deal.
You can straighten the bent ones

At least they are not load4ed with big knots. :) Get them ready before August so I can check them out. :D
I think you got the right attitude. Heck, anybody can make a bow outa right and regular stuff. Selfbows deserve a measure of character, and by golly you got a full measure on those staves. Gotta heat gun?
you got a heck of a deal on those. gonna make for some very nice bows.
