Post by: Robertfishes on April 22, 2010, 11:29:00 PM
I have some .021 ebony veneers anybody ever use ebony for veneer? I will likely grind them down to less than .015 before glue up               (http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt46/Robertfishes/ebonyveneer4x80.jpg)  (http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt46/Robertfishes/ebonyveneer1.jpg)

I have some Zebrawood veneers trhat I have used that look very similar.  Not hard to use, and I did them like you would any other veneer.  I think they are thin enough and dry enough that most of the oils are gone.

I have had issues with the oil coming out of a longbow I built with Zebrawood lams, but not with veneers.

You should have no issues.  I use veneers at 1/24" and 1/32 " without issues.  Most are bone dry.
