The handle will be leather when it is done

looks good, the only thing i see that stands out is the arrow shelf isnt radiused. also when i do a glue on riser i usually laeve a little more wood on the bottom half and round it well to fit my hand, but yours looks like it will work fine.i usually dont cut that much off above the shelf either, i just angle it from the deepest part of the shelf up like 2 inches or so depending on the riser length and style.
I would add the hickory backing before tillering and wait until the final tillering is done before shaping the handle. I do pre tiller the belly a bit before backing so to get a nice, even reflex bend at floor tiller stage.
Ok thanks and yeah I had it in my mind to only cut the fades untill complete tiller stage but I got carried away and forgot what I was doing
