Okay the picture finally worked. This is a good way to apply wood to limb bolts that i think really adds to the look of the bow.I first cut 1/8" thick wood that is wide enough to allow for some slippage when epoxied on.After the epoxy has dried i sand the excess off by putting the threaded part of the bolt in my drill press and sand it close while holding my sanding block at an angle. Finally i use a file held at an angle and take of just enough aluminum to form a clean line between the wood an aluminum. This is much easier than trying to sand circles and apply them.
Good idea and looks great. How do you keep from damaging the threads?
Awesome!That looks really nice!
Big-un i forgot to mention that i wrapped the theads with electrical tape first. Here is a picture on the bow which is my first one with limb veneers and wedges that i ground myself (http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab331/mikeineugene/new%20bow/newbow001.jpg)
