Title: MORE LAMS
Post by: Bow-cephus on March 07, 2010, 10:36:00 AM
Ok guys sorry if I keep harping on this one subject, however I got a good bit of bamboo and more black walnut available to me. If I did boo cores and B/W Lams covered in clear glass would it WORK? I mean considering I did it right?

I have done a couple of straight limb longbows with that combination. All of them were with parallel lams and they shot nice. The 66 inchers are a little smoother than the 64 inchers. The last one was 60lbs. @ 28 and shot a 590grn arrow 174fps. Good luck, never quit experimenting.

black walnut is excellent lam material.  should do nicely with the bamboo, springy and low mass.  I like walnut with something like paduk for stiffness and light weight.  like stag said, just do it.
