Here is my latest creation. I don't think this has been done before. (I have not seen them) Mosaic limb bolt washers. These are on my PBS donation bow. I have been kicking around the idea for a couple years and finally got around to making them. I also made a set with black inside of the squares

Awesome!!!!!!!
Those are very nice.
Tim
Those are awesome! Any chance for a build-a-long?
Wow, that is absolutely outstanding.
COOL!! Is the brass bezel set down in phenolic?
Thanks guys!
Kenny,
The washers are setting in counterbores in the phenolic overlays on the limb. Below is a picture.
Jesse,
No plans for a build along at this time. Google making mosaic pins. I made some for knives before I made the washers. You must have a metal lathe to build these the way I did. Not sure if I will make anymore. I usally only build one of whatever it may be and that's the end.

Nice work on everything, love the riser detail. Bill
That's really impressive. How many estimated hours do you have in that bow? I bet you have alot. Chad
That is a fine bow. The points in the saddle look excellent!
Thanks for the kind words guys!
VRB,
The riser has a box joint running up the center of the Rosewood.
Chad,
I'm not sure hour many hours I have in the bow. I would guess maybe 30 hands on excluding drying times on glue or finish. I'm thinking about 2.5 hours on the limb bolt washers.
Inrut that is to cool!!
Did you use solid brass stock and drill out for where the mosaic is?
Trying to make them in my mind and that is what I am comeing up with.
Cobbow
Wow! Those are really cool!!
Someone will be very proud to own that bow.
Monte, you did it again! Glad to see that talent of yours isn't sitting on the shelf.
Kevin
See you in Nashville, I hope.
I had to bring this back up, some kinda purty right here. Nice job again Monte
First time seeing this. That is an absolutely beautiful bow and the mosaic just tops it perfectly.
Glad you brought this back up two tracks... that is simply beautiful. I don't know who would be more proud; the owner or the creator?
The details are awesome! Beautiful work.
Stan
Awesome bow Monte. I was just telling a friend about it last week. Are making one for Portland?
Wow that's beautiful. Great job
Great idea. Beautiful detailing
You can purchase mosaic pins through most knife making supply companies. Drill washer insert pin cut so you can rivet, file, sand then polish.

Very nice detail to any bow. Wow
That's a class act ;)
I love that whole package! I saw some limb bolt washers similar to that a while back and always wanted to try that in the brass finger guard on a knife. Those are awesome!!
Drop dead beautiful bow,wow.
Wow! Impressive is not a strong enough word! I have never seen anything like that before and man to I like it!!!
Is that your own bow design as well? You are very talented Sir!
Thanks for the kind words guys! I haven't been on this section in a few weeks and was surpised Chuck had brought this back up. Greg I am building A PBS bow for Portland. Missed you at Compton. I've been building limbs for Bear T/D's #1,#2,and #3's. I have also made three pair of lmbs for the Bear 76er. I will get some pictures up soon.
I have not made the mosaic bezels but do make the pins for my knives and have a bow with mosaic index pins coming up. I do like your bezel very much, did you purchase the pins or make them?
just fantastic!!!!
stickmonkey,
The washers do not have pins in them like used in knife handles. They have holes in them that I put the brass shapes in and filled with colored epoxy then machined them. Same process as making a pin like used in a knife handle but not using a tube to do it.
That is what I figured but did not want to steal your thunder as they look great! I make a stars and Masonic patterns and fill them the same way with colored epoxy.
