I have about $300.00 to spend on a new tool. I currently have a table saw, band saw, joiner, drill press, and 6x48 sander. My question is which tool do you feel would be of most benefit. I am kind of thinking of a oscillating spindle sander. Suggestions?
An oscillating spindle sander would be a wise purchase. It is probably my most used power tool when building a bow.
Grizzly has a good table top model for only about $150. You'll have money left over to buy more bow wood/laminations :)
Rigid Oscillating Spindle/belt combo hands down!
Im with Apex, its the best bow making tool I own...usually $200 at Home depot...and sometimes you can find a reconditioned one online for cheaper online...get some 36 grit blue Norton sandpaper and you can shape a riser in no time at all. I use mine almost every day for something.
I'll have to vote for the rigid also- great tool.
Thank guys.
