I'm getting ready to build a bow from a Binghams pronounced take down longbow form and I need to know what thickness of a stack I need for a 64" and 66" bow
Also does anyone know what tapers to use, the kit calls for a taper, a paralle and a reverse taper. are they .001, .002, .003 or a combo? or something else
Thanks
Terry
Binghams has a chart on their web site with the stack you would need for their form. You can also call and they will help you choose what taper stack you need also.
Cobbow
P.S. Post pics when you get it built I have this plan but havent built it yet.
Dont forget to have fun!
There chart is for a 68" bow.
Subtract 7 pounds for every 2 inches. That's the formula Elmont told me to use. Good luck
Shawn
If the chart is for a 68" bow and you use the same stack in a 66" bow you will have a bow 7#s heavier than the chart.
Thanks, I kinda figured out that.
Anyone know about the tapers?
I think the Bingham kit uses .002 tapers, when you reverse one you wind up with a parallel limb. I guess you could use all parallels if you wanted and you would come out okay.
yes 0.002 for the tapers Sorry I missed that part earlier.
Post some pics already.
Shawn
I have to gather some more stuff then I'll post pics
Thanks for the info.
