Hi, i'd like to obtain a large sheet of thin rawhide, rather than single strips...any ideas who to contact?  Thank you

You might try Tandy Leather

I second that...you can usually get a sheet 36" long (I believe a shoulder) for less than $20.  They also have nice large sheets of goat rawhide for about double that.  The goat was very thin and its an economical buy rather than the strips.

Goat or deer rawhide is preferred because both are thin but very strong. Generally rawhide from cows is too thick so you will have to thin it to eliminate some of it's physical weight. You should be able to find goat or sheep rawhide in the UK but I wouldn't know where.

Tandy has it too. I have a store a mile from my house. The goat rawhide is thin but it was a bit too small. "Short".
