Title: question about jet/performax 10-20 drum sander
Post by: bigbellybuck on February 15, 2010, 07:34:00 AM
How do you zero the drum with the feed table? When I sand a board it takes more off one side than the other. I've been sanding a board with it and then using that board under the one I'm working on to make it work right, but I'd like to know how to get it right. Thanks

Here is the manual.  Performax 10/20 (http://content.jettools.com/manuals/M-628900.pdf)

Instructions are on page 12.

Even when its adjusted properly I always "Flip" my lams over after each pass. Even if the drum is not perfectly square with the table your lam will be.

Right on Stagmitis, thats the same thing I do.I draw a line on my bottom drive belt so I put my Lam  in the same place.

I recently purchased a 10/20 Jet. I like it pretty much. I did find a great improvement in performance when I used blue zirconia paper. It stays sharp a long time and doesn't clog nearly as fast as aluminum oxide. Its available from woodworker supply in pre-cut lengths for the 10/20. try it.....you'll like it.   John
