I want to try building a composite sleeve on a longbow that I an just about to glue up. Lock it/sock it looks great, does just fiberglass work or do I need carbon too?

i've been working on some kind of way to make a two piece and my problem has been keeping the two halves absolutely tight. everything i've tried so far isn't getting it.
what i did was take a cheap solid glass bow and made a diagonal cut thru the handle thinking i would build the handle around one half and then slide the half down in the hollow handle and bingo! no such luck. i've had to resort using a pin to get it to hold tight.
i have a new design going that uses a 5/8" harded rod in the handle. now i have to figure out how to build the bow around my handle!
i use a 3 pc. TD for deer hunting and just this year i put antler burrs on my bolts because i hate having to carry an allen wrench.

I like the antler bur idea. I also use a 3 the piece that i built in 08, well sort of, that one got a stress crack in the riser right at the shelf. I'm told I had to sharp of an inside angle in the sight window. I built another in Nov. of 09 and used it the rest of the season. The bow is deadly on small game but there seems to be a jinx on whitetails (or operator error). If I can get anything to work I will post it. I like the sockit/lockit idea that black widow and bigjim is using.
