I finished my first bow today and am happy with the way it came out. Had so much fun that it will not be the last and i can see that what many say here about it being addictive Is so true. Thanks to all here that have posted I feel my fist build is a success.

Very nice bow! You should be proud of your first.
Awesome job congrats!!details please!
Thanks to everyone for the compliments I had a great time building her. The wood is red oak and the handle is black walnut. The bow is 63" ntn at the tips it is 1/2" and at fades it is 1 3/4 do not know poundage yet a scale is one thing i did not have but will soon.
I use to have an old glass long bow that was 60# and this one is just a bit lighter on the pull.
My tool list is great as i have a woodworking shop but what i used was the bandsaw ,4in 1 rasp, block plain, and a cabinet scrape.the finish is old english scrape and scratch cover and brown shoe wax.
Again thank to all that post here I love this site!
Looks great - Good job!
I use a bathroom scale and a stand I made from a 3/4" dowel and a small piece of plywood. I will try and post a picture tomorrow.
