Title: New to archery.
Post by: cbushee on January 09, 2010, 01:35:00 AM
I've decided to get into archery and I'm looking to buy a bow. I know this isn't the classifields or powwow. My question is, do people here make bows for others? I'd be willing to pay $140 for a basic recurve as that is all I have(I'm young). It would be #40,28" draw, and around 60" tall. Is $140 too little or unreasonable? I think it would only cost the resources like the wood and time since they would already have the tools. I was looking to buy a youth bow for around $100 but I was cautioned that it would be low quality and I would outgrow it soon. Share your thoughts. If you or someone you know would make a bow for me, it would be very basic and not require exotic wood or need to be a takedown. Thank you for your time and patience with a prospective archer.

Look up Maddog Traditional Archery in the sponsors list above.  He makes a great quality bow for right around your price range.

Mike at MadDog is great to deal with. I've ordered 2 youth bows from him for my kids and they are sweet. I plan to order a bow from him for myself as well.
