Title: Can anybody tell me how to build a bow from a board?

I have never built a bow befor, and at a wood shop near my house they have some really good looking boards. Most are big enough to make 2 or 3 long bows, but i dont want to spend the $40 on one till i know how to build one if that makes since. Any advice be helpfull guys.

I am in the process of making my first and found Sam Harpers instructions very helpfull.

I would suggest using hickory. Its really cheap and incredibly strong. I get the board, rip it in half, and then make two pyramid bows out of it around 66" long tapering from 2" to 1/2"

It is the BEST board bow build a long I have ever read.

You can't go wrong if you follow his directions.
