Title: making a short bow
Post by: bowur on January 01, 2010, 01:24:00 PM
I wanna make a short bow for hunting, like less than 60" with a 28" or 29" draw. I would like to make something like a horse bow or a static recurve using all wood(no glass). Does anyone have any suggestions or maybe some pics of their short bows? I was thinking maybe ipe-purple heart-hickory with ash siyahs. Any help would be appreciated

I just posted a U-Finish horsebow I did a few months ago.  Maybe it would be of help to you.

dutchwarbow - please explain your method of building this style of bow...bamboo belly bows would seem to need tillering before adding the boo to the belly...?
Thanks much!
