Do you want someone to make one for you? Or, do you want to know how to make one for under $100?
If you're looking to get into building an affoardable bow, then the tutorials and build-alongs are great resources. I've built a couple of board bows that are hunt worthy, for well under $100 in materials. They can be built with hand tools but access to some power tools from friends are a definite expedient. Check out 4estTreker's post "so you want to build a board bow". I've had good success with this design.
Hey if you have a friend with a bandsaw and spindle sander you can make a fiberglass laminated bow for under $100.
- 2" wide black glass - 2 strips 0.05" - $41
- 1 pint Smooth-On - $17.50
- Riser block - $17-$25
- 2" wide Red Elm (edge grain) 0.120" thick - $28
- Shipping - can't be too much
Make a 70" bow with 16" riser, 2" wide at the fades to 3/8" wide at the tips.
Thats $103.50 before shipping, which can't be too much.
Kurt;
Where in Wisconsin are you? I'm in the Appleton area. I have a board bow that might interest you. 50#@28", 64" AMO, hickory recurve board bow - RH. Has zebrawood and black walnut riser and black walnut reinforcement at the recurve.
I'd sell it for $100 plus shipping. If you are close we can save on shipping. Let me know if you are interested.
