Title: In Memoriam
Post by: Pat B on December 06, 2009, 01:51:00 PM
A few months a good friend lost his battle with brain cancer. Tom was a member of the Primitive Archer family so we put our hearts, heads and talents together to build this set to present to Tom's son Patrick.

That's beautiful work, Pat.  God bless you for your kindness.  I bet working on the set was therapeutic for your loss.  You said "we put our heads together."   Did you do all the work yourself, or did other contribute?

4est, there were 15 or 16 folks that contributed. 4 or 5 worked on the bow. Actually, this is the second bow. The first, from a stave Tom had given one member, blew while shooting it in after tillering and another member jumped right in with the sinew backed osage and a few helped to tiller and decorate it. 3 different folks knapped the stone heads, two guys built the arrows. The axis deer hide was tanned specifically for this quiver and sent to me to make the quiver. It was truly a community endeavor.

That's a really nice jester from you and the PA family Pat. Tom was a true gentleman with a kind soul. Patrick is from the same mold. Give him my regards. ART

Art, I sure will. Hope to see him in the next two weeks. We will meet at Alan Brown's house in Hendersonville. It will be a total surprise to Patrick. He'll love it and the thought behind it.
