What kind of glass do yall use?
Dose the scrim add poundage to the bow?
Is it just as clear or is it a little foggy?
Thanks for the input.
I think the scrim is good for lateral/twisting support. I would use w/o scrim for overlays or inner lam material and w/ scrim as the outside glass. I don't know about clarity.
I use UL, or no scrim on longbows(haven't done any recurves for a while).
I would think the scrim(ULS) glass would maybe be helpful on recurves for stability help at the tips.
Don't think you could tell diff in clarity, but had a bowyer tell me he has had no trouble with the streaks in ULS that sometimes show up in UL
The only #s you should gain would be in the .040 UL vs the .043 ULS(sometimes both called .040) .006 worth of glass will make a few #s diff if you don't adjust your stack a bit.
I've used both for either 'curves or longbows and to be honest, I can't tell the difference in recurve stability one way or the other.
