Can I make a boo backed cedar bow or will it have to be as wide as a paddle. I know it doesn't have good tension strength but don't know about compression.
not with western red cedar
Oops. I was thinking of juniper.
I built one with juniper that worked real well, 1 1/4" wide. First bow I've made that gained reflex as it was tillered.
leee best i can tell ya i wouldnt use boo with ceader man thatd have to be real real thin 1 / 8 hickory on eastern red ceader is hard enough to make the trick with the ceader is not to have so much tension the ceader crushes thats why most have trouble with the ceader bows usally always cuz it crushes the ceader brock
This is Dano's Juniper bow. The pictures don't do it justice.
