I wanted to make a bow for my 10 year old son, so we could shoot together. I made him an osage D-bow. It is 50" NTN, 1" wide tapering to 1/2" tips. I made the shelf a little big so it will be easier for him to keep the arrow on it. It pulls 35# @ 20", which is a little heavy for him right now, but by spring, it should be just right. He has not really shot a bow much, so this is all new to him. While I was making it, he decided he wanted to be an indian for halloween so he could carry his bow around with him trick or treating. I made him some arrows out of dowel rods to go with it. My mom made him the outfit including the antler necklace. I painted some turkey feathers to look like eagle feathers.
