Title: Limb twist on a take down recurve?
Post by: b.glass on October 20, 2009, 10:42:00 AM
My cousin has a PSE take down recurve. He has shot it alot but this year he noticed on the lower limb the string was coming out of the nock groove on one side. He sent the limbs back to PSE who replaced them free of charge.

Thing is the lower string is still coming out of the nock one one side when he draws. Do you think it is the limb or could it be the riser.

When not in use I am usured it is unstrung and resting horizontally in a rack.

I know PSE may not be top of the line but the bow shouldn't be doing this.

Bona, does the bow still shoot? Meaning it will but the strings lays out to one side after? I have a Bob Lee that's about 14 years old, and when I draw it without shooting, the string will come out to one side. I never sent it back, just lived with it, It still shoots great and sits mostly strung.

Anyway, it could be an alignment problem with the riser. Call PSE and ask, tell them the problem still there. May be tough sending back during hunting season if it's his only bow! But if you can't shoot it, they should take care of it, no excuses. Good shootin, Steve

I hope he uses a bow stringer, one of the quickest ways to twist a limb is poor stringing methods, as you know.
