i have an unfinished antler riser, that i can work on. it has the alignment pins and bushings installed...but i'm wondering how to solidify/stabilize the antler itself. since its so porous there has to be a way to get some type of resin in it? i could use CA glue...but that would be alot of glue. is there somewhere i could send it to get it stabilzed?
thanks guys
You could soak it in resin.
maybe you could send it out and have it stabilzed? Might cost some cash but it would be worth it. Zipper makes a the best antler risers i have seen.<><
I think Bill Dunn slices the riser in two lengthwise and installs an aluminum support in his.
I read somethin once about clamping a bike inner tube with an air hose plug to the antler, putting glue in the tube and forcing epoxy thru it with compressed air. ???
interesting kennym, i guess you would have to thin the epoxy.
talked with steve at voodoo....he gave me the full details on the bike tube using bowgrip....i guess im gonna attempt it. thanks guys
He was my first thought. Sounds like you are good to go!
