Title: Best way to cut fiberglass laminations
Post by: TexasTrad on August 29, 2009, 10:44:00 AM
This is probably a silly question but what is the best way to cut fiberglass laminations..heavy scissors, razor..the strip is too long for my band saw.

Thanks in advance

Cut or trim? I use a beltsander for trimming width, and a small grinder for cutting.

I use a dremel tool with a cut off wheel.  I've tried snips before, and it causes the fiberglass to splinter.

we use a all metal fiber blade and made a table saw to take the fiber blades u can buy the blades at Lowels we make all glass E And S glass and carbon and this is what we use a blade will cut about 1000 laminations they will eat up a bandsaw even with a metal blade this works great we told gray wolf and he made one and likes it.
