Title: BBO Bow length and draw length
Post by: Abram on August 18, 2009, 12:09:00 PM
Hello to all,

I have been trying my hand at building a BBO bow and I have a question. My draw length is only 25" so what is the minimum and maximum bow length that would be preferred for someone with such a short draw? I have a Krewson BBO and it is 64" long and shoots great for me but would say a 66" or 62" work as well?

Thanks

You might like a 60", 62" would be a tad over built, but just fine too.

I find for IPE/Boo bows, 66" is great for my 29" draw.  I would do like Dano says.  As long as you have 25" of bending on each limb I say go for it.

Thanks fellas. I have already started work on a piece of bamboo that is cut to 66" but I think with some luck and patience I can bring that down to 60".

take care

Go with a 62" minumum Abe. I made several shorties for my 25" draw, all were pretty squirrely to shoot compared to my 64" bows.

Eric,

I decided to chop that piece of boo down to 60" last night, oh well we will see what it comes of it, if it doesn't work I have more bamboo and kids need bows as well right. Time to thin some more boo.
